Reminiscing, the author looks at the confusion, when she began to learn to write.

I did all my lessons and turned them in, learned to organize thoughts.
Read books by the dozen, made lists by the score, and eavesdropped without getting caught.
I lurked in lobbies, swiped magazines on the sly, scanning the pages for clues.
I tore out the good ones when no one was looking, I wonder, did you do this too?
I read, sorted, and filed all this, essays, short stories, the like.
I sifted, and shuffled and sorted for days, counted words ‘till late in the night.
Now I must confess, my mind was a mess, just keeping my goal in sight.
My question was this, ‘till I got all this done, where would I find time to write.

All the preparing takes time and leaves none left for us to scribble out our thoughts…we need more than 24hrs in our day.

I find there is never enough time to write, with all that has to be done beforehand. A good read.

Enjoyable read we can all relate to. I am lucky to have the time but I confess that I do not use it wisely.

It is the one question that many writers are constantly asking themselves; somehow the writing gets done.

Enjoyed this Val!
I too, get a bit perturbed at not having enough time to write but it’s getting easier the more writing you do.
