Helping people is something I have always liked to do. I believe giving back is one of the best things to do. That’s why when it comes to something like a newsletter to give people tips on something, I am all for it!
I have subscribed to newsletters in the past, just like the rest of you I am sure have. The main question you have to ask yourself when choosing a newsletter to subscribe to is – “Am I receiving valuable information?” I believe if you aren’t receiving information to better yourself, the newsletter is pretty much useless. For instance, those are the one’s that are constantly trying to sell you something. I don’t believe in that method when it comes to providing information.
I enjoy providing information to people that will help them in the long run. Since the internet and technology run our lives, I think tech tips would help assist people when trying to keep up with the tech savy world. Most people use the internet and technology everyday, but for basic things. Wouldn’t it be nice to have insight on how to do things to increase your productivity and make adjusting to technology easier?
I have always believed that knowledge is power and that everyone should be able to share knowledge with someone else. The thing that is very hard though is trying to teach someone who has no knowledge on a subject. In that situation, it’s best to do things one step at a time. The easier you breakdown the process the simpler it can be. I think newsletters are designed with that intent in mind.
My newsletter that I write at Social Tech Zone is a way to build communication and assistance for people. Providing relationships with people is one of the best things to do. You develop a larger social network and contacts along the way. It was brought to my attention that newsletters are a great way to make things more personal with people.
How do you feel about this whole concept?

Newsletters are very common but I find most of them rather annoying. Firstly I don’t have much time to read all of them. Secondly, very few of them actually have any valuable information, which I can’t get otherwise. Thirdly, the ever present push for sell is a major turnoff.
As long as I can choose which newsletter I want to read, I’m happy.
