Did you notice something on Triond? I’m sure, you did.

I write articles for almost all the leading sites that pay money for content writing. All of them are good but they have their disadvantages too. But important point is that all these sites are very careful about the articles they show on their front pages. I am sorry to say but Triond is an exception.
Lately, I’ve been noticing that many articles which have no substance and worthless, are making their place not only in the popular article list on the respective Triond associate sites, but also on the Triond hot content list! Strange enough to make people wonder – whether Triond is lacking quality articles or not? For the very fair reason, I won’t name any article here. But if you follow Triond closely, you’ll get to know that very easily.
Now, why is this happening? I have no idea. Well, I do have respect for Triond Editors and accept their reluctance to publish anything duplicate even though that particular article / poem is written by the same person. But the point is, only duplicate content doesn’t make a site ugly or less valuable. Does it? Quality of the contents do matter. Fake death reports of few Hollywood stars or meaningless writing about sexy butt of any celebrity, show nothing but the poor quality of writing. And by publishing and listing those in the popular and hot content list, Triond is only degrading itself.
I think it is high time for Triond to take this matter seriously. I have no doubt about the capabilities of Triond editors and employees. They are certainly doing a very good job. But, something is missing somewhere!

I too see this trend. Thnx for pointing it.

Great points but still Triond is great

I agree whole-heartedly. There are some articles that should have never been published, let alone made to the Hot Content list. I personally had an article rejected by Triond because I had first published it on Bukisa. Bukisa, however, has no problem publishing something there that has already been published on Triond. Where’s the reciprocity? Anyway, I digress. I think the problem is that some things make it to Hot Content based solely on the author’s name without any thought to whether the article is worthwhile.

Exactly my point. It is embarrassing the crap Triond spotlights…and then has the gall to explain to the users
that it is automatic…
I mentioned this in the so-called forum here, which led to my article, “Trolls Find A Home.”
Thanks for writing this.

I agree whole heartedly. Thanks for this article.

The quality of some of the stuff that gets published makes me wonder what’s going on, too. But the only thing I have control over is what I publish. So, I will continue to concentrate on the quality of my content.
February 12th, 2010 at 10:43 am
I opened the thread in the Forum about this, and was virtually chased off by the Trolls that lurk there. Outside of the rubbish written by that clown you mentioned, others who attacked me have made no submissions.
Guy you are wrong; the quality of submissions does effect every one of us. Try to use something you’ve had published here in a portfolio, and be laughed at.
Excellent post, and I’m adding you and those who agree with you as friends.

My view of the excuse

I do think that it does give a very poor impression of the site.
February 12th, 2010 at 11:44 am
i agree with you and i am happy you are brave enough to point this out as i am sure others have but are keeping quiet, thanks for sharing, sandie xx

Interesting, but i don’t think they know the content they put up or approve. I submitted an article and they declined it. I resubmitted it and they approved I made no changes.. so add this bit of info to your article thank youfor sharing

Triond’s standards are certainly declining and have been markedly so in the last few months which is a shame as there are some very good writers on here, however, it does seem that sometimes this is not reflected by some choices on the Hot Content List. Very good article.

I agree and even mentioned some of the same problems in an article I wrote a while back. However, I did not have the same problem with the “death” articles that many others seem to have. I have to say I thought while it is not something I would have done, it proved a great marketing method, and at least it was well written even if entirely fictional.

I totally agree and mentioned these things myself a while ago. What is worrying for the ‘good’ dedicated writers on Triond is that visitors think that the list of articles on the Hot Content page are the best the side has to offer. Anything seems to go as long as its content that gets reads by any means, within the rules, or not.

I have an issue with the Hot content situation. I am no longer writing for Triond because of it. I have written here for over two years and it was not an easy decision, but I have had enough of the couldn’t care less attitude.
February 12th, 2010 at 5:24 pm
You made a sound judgement here! There are few articles on the Hot content that surprised me. I read many amazing articles that should be on the hot content but for whatever reasons, did not make it.
February 12th, 2010 at 5:52 pm
I totally agree with you. I have seen some articles that made me wonder how they could be hot content. I have noticed the article you described being hot content when there isn’t any truth to it.
February 12th, 2010 at 6:46 pm
I agree to some point.
half the time I dont think Triond know what the articles are even about, and all articles are not read via them or writers, shame really.
But hay we can sort them out yeah!
February 12th, 2010 at 8:18 pm
Awesome article! Congratulations for writing something like this. I totally agree with you. Fake celebrity deaths and other types of articles that are worthless should not be there. I don’t know what the trick is to get an article on Hot content but I have only been on hot content twice if I am lucky. Very well-written and presented.
February 12th, 2010 at 8:32 pm
One of my most recent articles was rejected for “readability”. I wrote the editors back and pointed out that they have been publishing articles with poor grammar and spelling so why were they picking on me? The only change I made was put the quotations in italics and they accepted it right after that. Whether it was the change or my email to them that brought it about, I’ll probably never know.

very frustrating and you are right, it lowers things for all of us. And is especially frustrating when good links go unnoticed while crap floats to the top (sometimes..)
February 13th, 2010 at 2:27 am
i agree this..excellent share…i liked it..thx for sharing..
February 13th, 2010 at 11:54 am
I agree with you, not only are some of these articles badly written they are in very bad taste.
February 13th, 2010 at 4:53 pm
I have to restate my agreement to this…and have written an article specifically dealing with Hot Content and how something becomes Hot Content.

Yeah i wonder why that happens 0_o.
February 17th, 2010 at 12:49 pm
I agree with you 100%. I wish I knew what was going on. I still like this site and my good friendships here but I may have to leave soon if thing don’t improve.
February 17th, 2010 at 8:22 pm
You are so right, I seen a few articles about fake deaths, at first I was alarmed, then I checked the author and found that is all he/she wrote about. Now I know how those magazine in the supermarket get all the attention. I started here because I have read some quality work from a lot of my friends here on the site and so I have stayed; but it seems the standard for a great piece of writing has dropped. I am glad to see I am not the only one who noticed.

It is a good article of debate. I don’t question triond on their decisions of Hot Content matter. My dashboard is all that matters to me and my Inbox on what is effectively assisting others and what is not. If it were about money and Hot Content, I would have already been gone.
Websites use the skills of freelance writers for their gain, nothing else. I choose to be a number in this craft as I would be in any occupation. Workers, writers, and editors are just numbers of productivity, that is all.

Why is the Triond pay so miniscule.Surely you are better off promoting your work yourselves.
