Triond’s Hot Content: Hot Words

How do Triond writers make it to the Hot Content list?

I’ve been around Triond for three years now, and through the years one question remains unanswered.  “How do Triond writers make it to the Hot Content list?”  The question is still an unsolved mystery.  My very first article entitled, 15 Reasons to Remain Single, made it onto the Hot Content list; however, being a new member at that time I didn’t think much about it.  I’m not sure that I understood how hard it was to make the Hot Content list, or what it really meant.  It is only now that I find myself stalking the Hot Content list, usually a day or two after submitting a new article.  Hey, anything is possible!  It has been three years since I made it to the Hot Content list, (to add insult to injury, I can’t even find my newest articles under the Recently Published list), and like many other Triond writers I want to know what it takes for an article to be considered Hot Content.

Study the Hot Content list over a period of time and you might think that your next article can, or will be on the list.  Chances are you’re wrong because the list only has enough room for 10 writers.  That’s right!  You either have to be one of 10 hottest writers, or you have to have one out of the ten hottest articles.  How do you do that?  I don’t know.  That’s what we are all trying to figure out.  Study the Hot Content list and the answer might lie within the titles of the articles.  I’ve found myself studying the newest article titles landing on Hot Content over the last week or two.  What have I noticed?  I’ve noticed titles such as Kitty Litter Cake.  What the hell?  I don’t know because I haven’t read it, yet.  I’m sure that I’ll eventually get to it.  Another article that comes to mind from several weeks ago, is something about cleaning your bathroom while nude, I can’t say that I remember the title. And, now apples no longer keep the doctor away…orgasms do.  (These days who has time for that?!)  Have you read that article?  You can find that one under Hot Content (in case you didn’t know).  I wrote about Tiger Woods, although I was bored of the adultery news, it seemed to be what many wanted to hear.  So, I wrote about him, and not even he made the Hot Content list.  What does the Hot Content study reveal?

The Hot Content articles have words that catch reader’s eye.  Words such as orgasm, dead, danger, bizarre, and treatments are words you will find in articles under Hot Content.  Does that mean that all articles will make Hot Content if writers use those words?  Your guess is as good as mine.  When you figure it out, let me know.  However, from what I’ve noticed, I think it’s more about Hot Words and weird titles rather than Hot Content.  Are all articles that make the Hot Content list, hot?  Heck no.  We know that’s not true.  Is it possible that a computer randomly selects the Hot Content?  Anything is possible.  Does the Triond Team sit around and pull names out of a hat?  We’ll probably never know.  For now, until someone is able to prove me wrong, I’ll stick with the belief that it’s about Hot Words and not Hot Content.  I will continue to study the titles of articles and possibly experiment with a few titles of my own.  I suppose this article title could be considered my first “experiment”.  There has to be an answer to how writers end up on the Hot Content list, but for now it remains an unsolved mystery.

One problem with you princess is that you don’t read other writers but seem to conclude by only reading the titles of the articles and dismissing them. The article you have quoted about Orgasm is a well researched article that you should have read instead of talking about apples. The people who appear on that list including me really put in effort. We read and comment on other peoples articles, we research well before we pick on words. Read another article I wrote about menopause and you will understand. That list is about search engine preferences. Have you ever heard of search engine optimization? Have you ever heard of key words and Google page ranking? You have a lot to learn when it comes to article writing and should do that by reading fellow writers and not merely dismissing them. By the way, don’t concentrate so much on getting onto the hot content list, I don’t give a damn about the list even though am there more often than not. Research into how Google ranks web pages and you will understand what is happening.

It is a mystery and it is NOT accurate.

I had an article on the Hot Content list a few months ago.. it was number eight or something.. BUT I had another article getting many more hits that was NOT on the list.

    Recently I published
    http://therealowner.com/dogs/the-cruel-underground-world-of-dog-fighting/

which had more views than a friends link, but the friends link was on the Hot Content List and mine was nowhere…

so.. dont worry about it too much.

Thanks for a well written post. I think, we need to read more on this subject. Only titles can’t help us to get into hot content list.
