There seems to be many issues being experienced by Triond writers both old and new lately. There is an ongoing boycott being observed by some writers, while others are still trying to find their place.
My husband and I are both writers here on Triond. We both discovered the chat room recently set up by Christian Eaves and thought it was a great idea. The only thing is that with a chat room, people need to be there at the same time to be able to effectively communicate with each other. This can be nearly impossible when users are scattered around the globe in different time zones and schedules.
There seems to be a lot going on here on Triond recently. Some users have been experiencing problems with plagiarism, which is so awful and wrong. There is even a boycott on right now to give support to these users having difficulties. Amit Goyal has written an article on the boycott here. Goodselfme has also written articles on the boycott, and reasons for it, here and here. I didn’t join the boycott because I never understood what exactly was going on or why people were and are upset. Writing about issues faced by Triond writers in the Forum could really help others to understand what you are going through and maybe provide them with an avenue to help.
Another use for the forum could be to help new writers get acquainted with how Triond works. It seems like this site is attracting many new writers every single day. I know that I personally receive a ton of questions about various things from new users. I hate to admit it but I don’t have all the answers and am frequently unable to answer people really at all. I think that the forum could be a great place to post questions so that many writers would be able to answer and help out. The community here at Triond is really great and I’ve found that most people are more than willing to help out when needed.
Another issue that seems to be quite popular lately is people having complaints about pay outs. There is a section of the forum dedicated strictly to how to advertise and promote your articles. People can post ideas, suggestions and questions here that, hopefully, will be able to help out other users.
Anyways, the forum can be found here. We’re hoping that it provides users with a more unified way to talk about things that are concerning them. Please note that this forum is not sponsored or officially endorsed by the Triond website in anyway. We look forward to hearing from everyone!

A much needed and relevant article, I have not joined the boycott either. I am not sure it’s the proper way to go. It could be with so many jobs lost and everything going down hill that people are not buying on the internet as they once did. Maybe something will be worked out or we will all be let go. I have wished much success to Triond and still do.

I agree Ruby. With the economic slow down, all sectors are sure to suffer — including online sales. The other issue with the boycott was the lack of information regarding it. Hopefully this forum will help to bring the Triond community closer together.

Iam newbie here, and don’t know anything about boycott until I read this article. I myself loves to write and I admit that it would be nice to earn lots of money from my writingm even though writing for money is not my reason in joining Triond. In my few days experience with Triond, I found this to be a comfortable site for me to express my thought, you can write just about anything in Triond and find friend who share same interest with you. I hope Triond will continue to be so.

Interesting article, I have returned from my trip and found many messages regarding the boycott. I am a little disappointed with not having a forum and have asked a few times. I do know with my experience here at Triond that the site is growing fast and that Triond do, at least once a month try and do one thing to improve the site, I feel that they collect the requests and whatever is the majority at that time, gets the action requested ie/ spellchecker, profile changes. I personally think boycotting is a dangerous move, it is ‘anti’ Triond and its efforts, I do feel the payout is a little lower than I would like but my choice is to stay plodding on and accepting cents. In this economic crisis, anyone who can still function and offer a small payment in return must be doing something right and I will continue to support them, but that is me…grateful for the small things in life:)

Paula, thanks for letting me know about the forum

Yovita — Welcome!!! I wish you much success here at Triond. I’ve found it to be a great place to express my creativity and just to give me a voice. There are many wonderful people here. Hopefully in the coming days, more people will join the forum and will be able to help new users like yourself feel at home.
Glynis — I hope that the forum that we’ve made helps. We’ve thought about it for a long time before trying it. I wasn’t aware that anyone had asked Triond to make one. I guess we beat them to the punch this time! I too think Triond is worthy of my times and efforts and will continue to write here.
Eunice & everyone else — Thanks for all your support! I hope that the forum gains momentum and really becomes a place for open discussions. Perhaps the fact that it is not run by Triond will be a bonus in that everyone will feel able to be open and frank in their discussions in a way that they couldn’t here on the site.

Triond is a great site despite the recent issues. The forum is certainly a great place where Triond users can discuss and help each other out.

I think both the forum and the boycott are very important. Writing in any capacity, especially at the rate that one would have to produce in order to earn a decent amount of money is very difficult to do regularly. A lot of people who write for Triond pour their hearts out and try to promote their work as much as possible, but it all comes to naught.
I’m a student and I’m not working right now, and it would be really nice to be able to make more than $0.50 a month with Triond. Who knows how much the administrators are making.
I think Triond is good with responding with a lot of different concerns, but when it comes to extra ways of warning money (such as a referral program of some kind or bonuses) they don’t offer much.

Thank you so much for this post — I knew nothing of the boycott, and I’m happy to find the writers’ forum. While I would love to make boodles of money on Triond, I’m not expecting more than a few pennies here and there. I’m using this primarily as a mechanism through which I can practice my writing skills. Actually, I’m posting most of my writing over on nutuba.blogspot.com (childhood stories, etc.).

Been there, seen it, and will return many times before I buy the t-shirt.
It’s just what was needed. Thank you both for the work done.

Thanks for the support everyone. I hope that we can build this into a useful resource. Everyone, please feel free to post.
Lucas, Great, I’ll start making t-shirts!

I’ve been inactive for awhile here in Triond and was surprised though to receive information about the boycott when I came back. It’s really disappointing to see how things are going on around here now since I’m only a newbie and just started writing a month ago. I was so excited about joining here and sharing my own writing skills as I found the community really helpful as well as friendly and accommodating of issues and other concern for newbies like me. I hope everything will be settled in a manner that is peaceful and beneficial for every one.

I just wanted to let readers of this article know that Triond has signed up to see the twitters of this forum. They are reading it, they do care and your actions and words do make a difference to them. Keep posting on the forum and spread the word!
