Triond: Publishing Something Every Day

There is hope for all of us.

I have set a goal for myself of publishing something on Triond every day.  Now, I don’t know if I can do it.  There are only three subjects that I feel I can write about with authority: blogging, flash fiction and writing.  So far these three subjects have been enough; but to publish content every day may be beyond my capacity of production.

The subjects of blogging, flash fiction and writing are plenty to keep any writer writing for a life time.  The problem is once again the same old problem of coming up with a good idea for an article every day.

For me a good idea usually must percolate for a time before it presents itself as legitimate material for an article.  There is no rushing this process.  Much of the process is unconscious, beyond my rational control.  Much of every writer’s creative process seems to be beyond rational control.

I’m always quick to give tips and advice to other writers about writing.  Now I’m going to have to take some of my own advice.  The only thing I can say to myself is, have patience.

Or, I could make a new goal for myself, to just write when I’m hit with inspiration.  I should just write when I have something to write about.  But I read somewhere that inspiration is only %10 of the creative process.  So, my goal of publishing something on Triond every day will not change.  I may not meet this goal but the goal will not change.

90% of the creative process is perspiration.  That I can give every day.

Triond will survive if we skip a day.

I try to achieve this goal for myself, too. But I just can’t keep up with it. So, I just write whenever the inspiration strikes me. :) Good writers especially at Triond (like you) inspire me to keep writing.

This is a good target I think. It’s good if you can do it!

I’ve been trying to do the same thing when I am not spending too much time on my novel and my blog.

I try to aim at writing on Triond every day, not sure how long I can keep it up with two half finished novels and 3/4 short stories to edit!

I find passion is the key to your answer about what topic to write about, just choose something you are passionate about. x

Another brilliant point by you. I wrote everyday during my summer holidays, sadly, that’s not the case now. I aim to publish at least 5 articles in two installments and I’m trying to stick to it as much as I can. You are write though, unless you perspire, you’ll get no where.

ken, oh I know but I just don’t want to get lazy. And if I don’t push myself I will get lazy. It’s something every writer has to be careful about.

athena, I have to constantly push myself to write, even though I have a real passion for writing, because good writing is hard work. And I don’t like hard work.

Sourav, yes I think it is a good goal and I’m going to try my best to do it. I only have about 150 pieces on Triond and I would like to get to 200 as soon as possible.

I set up the same goal and I can understand where you are comming from. Between the blog, writing for Triond and AC, and being in the middle of a novel, plus add to that doing all your promotions on your social sites, work, and don’t forget living life, there is so much you can accomplish in 24 hours. I always have this question in the back of my mind, “Am I giving it all I can right now?” Depending on the answer I get from myself, I know how to refocus. Because truthfully if I wait for my muse to show up, she may never arrive.

royee, coming up with a new idea every day is very difficult. I would like to see if I can do it. You never know if you can do something until you try.

Papa, there doesn’t seem to be enough time to do all the things we want to do. I’m lucky in that I can concentrate on Triond. I might put up three postings a week on my personal blog.

lillyrose, passion is definitely the answer. So for me that means blogging, flash fiction and writing. These three subjects offer plenty of material. It’s just meeting a deadline every day that’s tough; but I need the deadline in order to push myself. It’s a win, win situation.

cutedrishti8, it’s always good to set goals for yourself so I’m happy with trying to publishing something on Triond every day. I just hope the quality of the work doesn’t suffer.

Atikin, writing makes a lot of demands on a writer; but when a writer sets up goals to meet, the writer is just asking the best from herself. And that’s a good thing.

Marie, I’ve decided to give %95 of my writing time to Triond and %5 to my personal blog. I belong to other sites but my focus is on Triond. Triond offers me what I’m looking for.

Great article. I also promised to have at least one submission a day here at Triond. So far I submitted 9 articles in 11 days. I am catching up though. Must write two today.

I haven’t written on Triond for a month now and I can’t find the inspiration to write. It would be very challenging for me to write an article every day, but I think you can do it. Good luck.

Dulce, it’s not an easy goal. We both have other commitments and there is more to life than publishing on Triond; but it would be nice to average one article a day.

deklin42, to write something every may not be a good goal for everyone. You may need to set a different goal that you feel more comfortable with.

    September 10th, 2009 at 11:38 am

Jane, you may have to set a different goal for yourself, one that fits you and that you feel comfortable with.

Writing something everyday is a better goal than writing “when inspiration hits”. The only thing about it is you have to forgive yourself when circumstances prevent the daily writing. Plan for make up days, or plan in a reasonable number of writing holidays.

being a starter on Triond and online writing as a whole, if I could manage to write an article a day… it will definitely help. good work

Yes, Daisy, a goal is just that; something to work toward. Or it’s like learner to ride a bike. Sometimes you’re going to fall off. You pick yourself and the bike up and you get back on.

    September 12th, 2009 at 9:52 am

theSVK, it’s not easy publishing something every day. But it is a nice goal to have. It’s too easy for a writer to be lazy without a daily goal. Goog luck and welcome to Triond.

I can identify with so much that you write about. I find myself waiting around for inspiration a lot of the time. It’s a sort of creative constipation. I find, though, that if I just sit down and write, I can often come up with something halfway decent. I think a big part of the writing process is getting rid of our ego. That’s very hard. Triond has been good for me because it forces you to write and write and write–and get keep putting your writing out there! You can’t sit and dwell on every word. Nice article.

WriteEditSeek, since I wrote this article I have not been able to publish something every day; but the goal remains. The goal pushes me. That’s what a goal should do.

No, fedjdc, it’s not easy. I haven’t been able to since I wrote this article; but it’s still a goal that I shoot for.

Jack, I’m afraid this is more of a goal than a reality. Still, it makes me push myself as a writer.
