Triond Articles: Value of a Comment

It costs you nothing, but values more to an author.

Though few of reader friends leave their valuable comments after reading the article, most of them are not. Few of them send personal messages or mails or scraps appreciating the article. They may not be aware of the value of the comment written in the same page of the article. I too used to send private messages about articles, if I get error when I try to post comments for more than two or three attempts.

Adding a comment is not going to increase the quality of the article or give a monetary benefit to the author, because monetary benefit depends on the number of views and not the comments. So comments are like moral support to boost up the authors confidence, a tip to write better, a memento to preserve. It is same like a film star getting an Oscar award.

Yes, again I’m going to be bit specific on comments. Few people, instead of writing a comment about the article, used to critic the author in the name of comment. I would really appreciate any critics written about my article. Yes, I got few comments which used to advice me to improve my writing style. I appreciate them, and took those advices to my head and trying to improve. But few people find happiness in hurting the authors in the name of comments. Never mind.
