Triond and Our Choice for Photos

Which pic to choose can be a tough decision.

Ok we all know we have to choose a photo at the bottom of the page to add to our articles but shouldn’t they at least make sense?

“Choose a thumbnail image to display with your work.”

No problem you think right? Well problem! I don’t how many times I have clicked numerous times trying to find the right image to match my article. Often time having to add words to the Tag to guide it along.

For instance, I recently posted an article through News on Daylight Savings Time. The second image in the list was plain and simple in bold letters the word SEX. hmm… well maybe that is how some people choose to spend that extra hour but it certainly wasn’t mentioned in my article.

Far too often I will type up a subject and the images are loaded with American flags, American symbols, buildings, presidential statues.  What do these images have to do with anything I wrote about? They don’t that is the problem and it drives me crazy!

Please Triond find a way to match your images with the subject placed in front of you. I know it is just a program and not a perfect science but somewhere close would be nice.

I am curious to see what images come up for this one.

These are petty things to worry about.

I have this problem with the pictures on the side. I will write a book review and not even a photo of that book will come up. I have to go search it out on Amazon. I know they talk about using “key” words but I don’t know what those “key” words are supposed to be.

Yeah, I have the same problem. I usually end up clicking randomly.

    some times they over take

    the poets impressions

at times snaps cover the folly

some times the poem is cute

and the photo adds to its glory

    so don’t worry

    Triond approves of it
    so does the jury hence
    avoid the fury!

Sometimes I just choose the most colorful one whenever I can’t find the image that I need.

hmm Fornis looks like it’s not petty after all eh!

Pat, I know I wonder about the key words too. It’s hard to know what they’re looking for.

Dee, yes me too sometimes I look for what might grab the reader the most.

ok. if you care so much about it. I have stopped bothering about it as it takes lot of time waste and we may not find the one we like to use. And it is not shown on our article but on pages linking to our article. Hardly anyone clicks page after page within a website even if it is compelling image.
However if it gets shown up in search engine you will get hits for sure. But for that you dont need these thumb nails but you can get a thumbnail of your choice resize it down or get one under free license and place in the article.
At Bukisa we have choice to upload our thumb but I stopped as it is taking as much as writing the article itself. It isn’t really worth the thumb. Perhaps at the most you might get 10% of your traffic through this. Within the time spent for this you may write another good piece of content.

I’m not that bothered by it. I just wish there were more photos from other countries.. every article I write an American flag pops up and I don’t live in the U.S. That does annoy me.

I joined Bukisa the other day but for some reason it is not recognizing the email address, pen name or password I entered with and I never received a confirmation letter.

I too have experienced such problems; I’m sure Triond would rectify this. This happens in Image suggestions too.

I have had the same problem. I’ve clicked for that image about ten times and still couldn’t find the right one. Sometimes nothing fit but had to choose something. I agree Triond should do something better.

I stopped paying too much attention about it, I rather choose something more or less catchy that matches my theme. And yes, I do that too, adding tags just for the better images to pop up and then remove these silly tag words :) I wonder whether Triond can offer its users some images for the posts – I struggle a lot in finding a free source of quality photos.

Nina, try sending them an email (I mean Buskia), asking for help. I also had some issues with registration and they solved it just fine.

It would be nice if they put more time into it but I guess they aren’t bothered.

Sometimes, we just have to pcik the one that can be closely associated with our article.

    Nina,
You can also ask on getsatisfaction site of Bukisa:
    http://getsatisfaction.com/bukisa/topics
This will be public so they will certainly respond.
There is also one for triond; just change the word bukisa to triond in the above url :)

On the suggested images part, I don’t use suggested images. We can find best, compelling, beautiful and relevant images if we do the search outside. First consider is it worth the time adding images to the articles. My experience shows otherwise.

Thank you Fornis. I sent my message. Though I had sent one there through Triond but never received an answer.

I thought we had to add images, that it doesn’t let the article go through until you do. I do take some from outside as well.
