Thoughts on The Triond Forum Closure
RE: The triond forum closure.
I woke up this morning to find the triond forum had been shut down. Triond’s reasoning for this was that the forum had drifted away from its intended purpose. I actually think the forum closure was beneficial, because the truth of the matter is that the forum had degenerated into a platform for spammers gone wild, and that was ruining the triond experience at large.
It is however,unfortunate, that some in triond’s community were too immature to keep it together. I’m sure that triond had noble intentions when they created the forum, and as such I cannot blame the creators for the forum’s demise.
I look forward to growth in the triond community, and lessons learned.
I cheer for triond’s decision to close the forum, but I hope it doesn’t have to be permanent. I hope the spammers realize they are the bad apples that spoiled things for the rest of us, and that they have soul enough to care.

I support Triond’s decision to close the forum, but I agree that it is a shame that it came to this.

Was it the spammers who brought the forum down or the trollers?
I think the spamming could have been controlled with proper moderating. But, closing it was for the best if the latter wasn’t going to be done.

I stayed off the Forum as it was full of Trolls. Good that Triond robbed them of their pleasure! Sick and sad individuals.

I think that it is a sad commentary on society that adults cannot behave responsibly on an unmoderated forum. I will miss it, but I don’t think it was salvageable.

I agree with you and though I seldom used the forum in the beginning I found it helpful and then it changed. I’m glad it closed as as far as the spammers go, well, I think it is pretty sad when adults can find nothing better to do with their life than spam others who are trying to make something better of themselves. In my opinion they are people with wasted, useless lives right along with the trolls. It is sad when it has to come to this but Triond has done the right thing in closing it.
