Writing on this website could be the ride of your life. Even when the brakes don’t seem to work.
Writing for an earning is like riding a roller coaster. There are going to be many ups, many downs, and there are going to be times where the entire process is going to really make you want to throw up. There are going to be times where you’re going to make a surprisingly decent amount of money. Sure, it’s nothing to retire on but it’s respectable compared to most. And then there are going to be days where things are not going to be so well.
Really Triond is more of a same. It is like a roller coaster. There are going to be many times where you’re going to really find that you’re going to be doing well enough to be satisfied and other days, you’re going to find that you’re lucky to scrape by with more than a hundred or so views and a few pennies.
Of course there are days where Triond is like a roller coaster if the brakes got blown out and half of the track is missing. Gateway timeouts, the dreaded your data is “XXXX” seconds behind, articles being put in the wrong place, and thumbnails not loading properly. Seriously if I had a quarter for every article that I’d have to relocate because Triond put in in a place that it didn’t belong despite what I told them, I would have a fair chunk of change.
Has There Been a Downturn in Earnings in October.
I think to a slight extent it has. It does tend to happen after every month where we have a contest. Views tend to taper off slightly as do earnings. Granted it hasn’t been as hard as a fall as the previous times this has happened, but with contests in both August and September, something was bound to happen.
Plus I feel that views might have gotten partially inflated due to an obsessed group of people scanning articles to try and find material to flag to satisfy the contest. Just a thought I’d decide to put out there.
I think we’ve all long since accepted that we’re not going to be to retire just writing off of Triond. Still if we get a few extra dollars every month and put that money back and save it, it all adds up. People tend to look too much at the bigger picture, but they need to focus a bit more on the small change, as it can add up if you keep putting it back when you can.
Is Triond Dying
It does seem there are times where this website could just go poof into Internet oblivion at any day. The next time it goes down into a bad gateway, it could be the end. Now we could get years and years out of Triond some more, with it limping along at the same pace it is now, or it could crash and die by the beginning of the next year. You just never know anymore. The only thing for sure is nothing’s for sure.
I think that right now I could walk away from Triond and not post one more word, and with all of the articles that I posted, I could still make some residual money each month, reaching the minimum payout.
I could but I won’t. I think in the end, it’s my destiny to be the one to turn out the lights when Triond is done. Or get dragged out of the bar kicking and screaming, before getting a stun gun rammed up a very sensitive area.
The roller coaster ride continues. Try to hang on and not fall off the edge.

Every single time I mention articles being placed in the wrong place, said article gets placed in the wrong place. Forget the trolls on the message board, the automated system is the biggest troll on all of Triond.

good stuff.

Hope every Triond writer enjoys writing here.

I for one enjoy the highs and lows and am happy to stick around for a while yet And should anyone turn out the lights – I’ve got plenty of candles.
Great article – loved it.

it takes so long for pages to load, all the pops up and traffic here is awful. I enjoy it, but only write small sports articles now. I get much more traffic on other sites.

The erratic fluctuation of view is strange. One day almost nothing, then, the next day a hundred plus views. I often wonder what’s up with that.

I’m kind of getting bored but I will not give up. Why Triond cannot take control of it’s forum? Those trolls are so disgusting.
October 21st, 2011 at 9:48 pm
That was a great comparison. I love writing here, even if I don’t make much
October 21st, 2011 at 10:10 pm
I still love writing in this site despite the ups and downs.

Good metaphor. I just buckle up and hope for the best. I’ve personally given up relocating my posts. I would ask for a relocation only to be rejected. I guess somehow my comics read as poetry to the automated system. I’m glad to hear you can make decent change sometimes. Makes me hope for the future.

Thanks for sharing this very attractive article. . The fact is that though I don’t earn much in spite of my best efforts, even then Triond is my favorite site.

Triond forever pals…just to satisfy my passion..

I like the comparison of Triond to a rollercoaster. very well-said. I wanted to mention that some of these sites take a very long time to download and freeze your computer up. When you restart and resume to the same page, it starts opening windows making it difficult to close group,. These are some of the other issues besides gateway 502 and 504.

I sure hope Triond will be around for a very long time.

It’s very true. Earnings here won’t give you much, but it can buy a loaf of bread.
) better than none.

I totally agree with what you’ve written, but as long as we enjoy to write and also earn money, why not?

Triond = rollercoaster, definitely a good analogy. I for one am hoping the ride doesn’t end too soon
October 23rd, 2011 at 11:55 am
Very informative and useful! But why the talk of Triond dying? I think it’s very much alive and kicking! Problems are there, but solutions too can be found!
October 23rd, 2011 at 12:16 pm
Very well written, proper use of metaphors, very readable and I enjoyed reading it.
I hope Triond stays a bit longer then the end of the year. I just am starting to understand it.
October 23rd, 2011 at 12:57 pm
I don’t think Triond will ever die. We just have to take the rough with the smooth and remember all the friends we have made on the site.
