No, I don’t mean another troll, spammer, or constantly changing his or her name(r). The Triond forums could just benefit from this Facebook-inspired tool! Please read on…
I admit it. I spend a fair amount of time in the Triond Forum. From my first hello thread – a mere 7 months ago – to my last post, and even when I took my little (seriously had to step back because I was becoming addicted) break, I enjoy visiting the forum.
The Triond Forum is a learning experience, to be sure. Whether you wish to find out who’s made what this month (for those willing to share), or who’s having technical difficulties, who’s just plain bored, or who’s offering tips to help the newbies – a lot can be gleaned from the Triond Forum.
But not every thread is comment worthy. Forgive me if this offends anyone. Some things, some times, are just better left unsaid.
However, there are many times – especially lately – that I believe a lovely LIKE button would be handy. You know, like we have over at Facebook (or face-crack as someone near and dear calls it).
Now I know, this idea may seem a bit over the top. Especially for those who aren’t a fan of Facebook. At this stage, might I be bold enough to say you are probably in the minority?
Either way, I’m not suggesting that Triond steal the concept from Facebook. They could simply write the Facebook LIKE button code and stick that fun little Facebook like button right at the bottom of each post. Okay, maybe it’s not that simple; I admit, coding is not my strong suit.
But that way, while I’m lurking around the forum each day, I could randomly and much more specifically LIKE those posts that thrill me, make me LOL, or just plain deserve a LIKE for being so awesome.
It seems like a brilliant idea to me. And time-saving too; you know, when you want to reply but a LIKE would be just as swell! Beyond that, it might even help me stay away from Facebook a bit more too. I doubt it, but you never know.
Anyway, this random musing was the culmination of my irritation over the last few weeks, as I traveled through the forum, finding fabulous posts, and repeatedly trying to LIKE them with a button that just wasn’t there.
Yikes, maybe I am spending too much time on Facebook.
So, Triond, what do you think? A Facebook LIKE button for our fabulous forum? Or shall I just go back to lurking and keep my silly little ideas to myself?
And to my fellow Trionders: who’s with me on this? It will be the only time I offer you the opportunity to post a one word comment on one of my articles…oh heck, go ahead and do it on any of them, if you please. If you like it, then LIKE it.
It’ll put a smile on my face because I’ll know you just plain get it. AND you LIKE it. And rest assured, I won’t be offended it you happen to DISlike it, either.
Cheers!

We all have to remember though that Triond really does not want to waste time working on the forum because they do not earn anything out of the forum. Are you suggesting that it is a facebook like button? That would not work since most of your facebook friends are not on Triond and you have to be logged into Triond to view the forum.
If that isn’t what your saying and you think the like button is sort of like a bookmark then maybe that could work, except we can view all the threads we’ve posted in by going to ‘Forum Activity.’ Although if you are just lurking I guess a like button wouldn’t be too bad

Lol! Thanks, LK! I’ll take that as a like! It was just a thought!
