The Triond Community: A One-year Perspective

On February 13th, 2008 my first Triond article got published. I have officially reached my one-year anniversary. To celebrate, I have written a piece on my perspective of what the Triond community is all about.

I just reached my one-year anniversary as a Triond member. I finally feel comfortable enough to express and share some thoughts about this community. In this article I share my perception of the community’s culture and strengths.

As everyone knows, the Triond community gives people a forum to share their writing, art and photography skills. However, the real life-blood of this organization is something much deeper and rewarding. The power, strength and essence of this community is about celebrating and applauding the effort, passion, courage and spirit of writing, art and pictures.

This kind of attitude and culture promotes special friendships and support. It’s these relationships that lead to helping, teaching and learning from each other. I have met and continue to meet some incredible people at Triond. And I am very grateful for all of them.

It is safe to say that the majority of the people here are not yet established writers, authors, artists or photographers. However, I think we are all looking for support and guidance to get there. Don’t get me wrong there are some seriously talented people here as well as many established freelance writers and authors. For those of us who have a goal of becoming successful outside of Triond, it is these people we marvel at and try to learn from.

Regardless of how successful we all are, I think we can learn something from just about everyone. We all have special talents, knowledge and skills that could help other. And I think we are all open to doing that if given the chance.

The bottom line is, Triond is not a club where the majority of its members are polished writers who are famous and world renowned for their work in print. The large majority of its members are new to the industry it promotes. It is mainly a community of people who have a common burning desire to share their work with others and to learn and grow into something bigger and better. Regardless of what your goal is: to attain hundreds of thousands of views, become a successful freelance writer, write a best selling book, become a journalist or just sell a few pieces for money, we are all striving to achieve something meaningful with our writing, art or photos.

So, celebrate and applaud the courage that everyone shows whenever they put their work out there for the world to see. Cheer the effort, the imagination, the passion, the individuality, and the uniqueness of everyone who participates here. Because, this is what this community is all about.

If you are not about this, check yourself, because you may be in the wrong community.
