Blogging and writing every day can take up a lot of time.
I like blogging. I like writing. I like watching silent films. I can check out silent films on tape from the library. I use to watch a silent film every night. I haven’t watched a silent film in months. I’m too busy blogging and writing and reading. I don’t blog, write and read all the time. I’ve just gotten out of the habit of going to the library.
Below is a photo of silent film star Greta Garbo.

There’s a trick to writing short articles. Not only does a short article have to have a setup, a buildup and a payoff, it must also be complete. It must answer the reader’s expectations. Which is the same thing an article of any length must do.
I try to publish something on Triond and on my personal blog Pittsburgh Flash Fiction Gazette every day. Things happen and on certain days nothing gets published. Of course, I do a lot of reading and commenting, too. I write short articles because I don’t have to research them and they don’t take much time to write. The main reason why I write such short articles for Triond and my blog is because I just like to write them.
Snow is still on the ground here in Pittsburgh but later today the temperature is suppose to be reach the low 40s and the sun will be shining. It would a good time to take a walk to the library.

It is a good discipline to write something every day. I do other writing work every day as well as my blog and triond, so it really does feel as if it is taking over my life at times. You are right, it is important to read and do other things too.

Frances, today is a sunny, warmer day in Pittsburgh. So, I went for a nice long walk and picked up something for the crock pot. Going for that nice long walk did wonders for my spirit; the bad weather kept me in and it was good to get out. Now I’m ready to start writing and blogging again.

alc, I like to try to explain things to other people to see if I know what I’m talking about. Things are so much clearer on paper.

I walk everyday regardless of the weather as it helps me to think. I often go to the library not just for the books but it gives me a boost to keep writing.

Liked the idea.

Love it, especially the way you’ve ended it. Walking, libraries, regular writing, they all keep our minds alive.

Time is money. I try to write something everyday…I just don’t publish everyday. Besides, not everything you write should be made public. lol.

You sure are very experienced Mr. Hogan, you seem to have many people viewing and reading your work. I know you have your skills and tricks!

Yes, that’s indeed a short article. Good to know.

It’s hard to write everyday. Sometimes the inspiration comes and goes for me.

It is easy to read short articles, espcially when one doesn,t have much of time. Short ones with substance are more interesting. Thank u for the share.

Well, writing shorter articles are fun too but when you are writing about something you really like, it is so easy to get carried away.
I am not good with silent movies, and not good with black and whites either. I guess it has something to do with the fact that I always had a color TV. But I am old-fashioned when it comes to libraries. My school- the uni I graduated from- has a great collection of movies and books but it is far from where I live…: (

My favorite thing to write is short fiction but I have found non-fiction sells better. But there are many times I write just for me and the joy of writing. Hope you enjoyed the library, it is one of my favorite places.

Some times I just need to take a break. Being a freelance writer it is difficult to keep blogging on your own sites as well.

Oftentimes it is even more challenging to write concise articles rather than beating around the bush. What I like about Triond is that they accept even short articles. Good one!

Good point about discipline, writing every day. I tend to be too much hung up about quality of content and anguishing for an unendurable slice of eternity if I can’t can’t produce anything valuable.

Great article, I hope to be as successful as you are at blogging.
