The Real Secret Behind The Hot Content

Here is the real secret as to why certain people really stick it out on the Hot Content list when others still struggle! This formula should work and if it doesn’t then…Well, there’s not much I can say to that!

Have you always wondered why certain people seem to be on the ‘Hot Content’ EVERY SINGLE DAY? Well, here is the secret (that I discovered, thank you very much!) which I don’t mind sharing with all of you. I decided to write this because I got a message asking me why I was “on the ‘Hot Content’ all of the time” so here is why exactly some people stay up there for longer than some others.

  • It is a secret so this is just between me and you. You put one excellent article on the ‘Hot Content’ (purely based on likes and comments – views don’t mean diddly squat to Triond). Anything about 10-15 comments and likes should bump you up to the ‘Hot Content’. That is the only hard bit in the process but it isn’t impossible. Once one of your articles is on the ‘Hot Content’, keep writing articles on the next few consecutive days and that should put you on the ‘Hot Content’ for the next few days.

  • For example, on Saturday, if you write an article and it reaches the ‘Hot Content’ on Sunday purely based on comments and likes, write ONE single article on Sunday and it should be published on Monday and reach the ‘Hot Content’ on Monday. Write another SINGLE article on Monday and it should be published by Tuesday and should reach the ‘Hot Content’ on Tuesday. Keep repeating this for as long as you can and as long as Triond keeps an article of yours on the ‘Hot Content’.  Any more than one article per day doesn’t really work, I find – remember, you don’t want to spam the ‘Hot Content’.Once your article reaches the top 3 positions in the ‘Hot Content’, you should find that the article stays up there for longer and for days, if you are lucky, without any effort.
  • I can’t guarantee the success but it has paid off for me. Please note though, being on the ‘Hot Content’ is like a temporary spotlight so don’t expect it to pay off in the long run. Also, don’t expect it to work for AuthSpot or Picable. I’ve yet to see an article/photo that makes it to the ‘Hot Content’, which may I take the opportunity to say, is REALLY sad.

So, see if that works for you.  If it does, then I may have discovered the real secret behind the ‘Hot Content’ list. If it doesn’t work, then I guess I’m just one of those many people still looking for the impossible.

Very well written my friend. I need not aspire to be hot for long as my article has the content. If 5 people could read the wisdom in my articles and a hundred failed to do so, whose loss it is anyway. It’s a matter of firsts and lasts and I have already written about it. BTW your formula is worth a try.

Not much hope for me either. I used to be on the hot content a lot with poems, but not these days. I rarely see poems on there, but does it really matter? Thanks for putting us straight.

Very well done! I was on it once for sure but I know I have many articles with more than 15 views that aren’t on the Hot Content list. Go figure!

I’ve recently got about 250 views from one article and about 17 comments (not including mine) and 15 likes within a day. I still didn’t got into hot content, so it might not work for me. :(

Thanks for sharing anyway, it might eventually work if I keep writing more and more high-quality article.

I agree that comments seem to play a role in the Hot Content list. I think there are other factors as well, though. I’ve had several articles reach the list with no or very few comments. I think Triond likes to have articles from its various sites on the list, so if not much has been published on a particular site one day, your article has more chance of hitting the list.

Well written but not the answer to the puzzle.

I have articles with 50 or more comments that don’t get onto hot content, so I doubt the 15 will get anyone there.

I also write articles on most days but some get into hot content with a handful of reads and comments, while others have thousands of reads and don’t show on the list.

I must admit that the articles I have had in hot content are not my highest earners either. It gets a few hundred extra reads from Triond members but that just brings in pennies.

Triond uses an algorythm to select articles for the list and it ceratinly isn’t based on likes, comments, or reads. I have had articles on there that have just a few reads and a couple of comments. There seems to be no logic to it.

At one time on Triond the articles with most reads went to the top but it looks as though the algorythm has now got some random factors in it too.

My experience has been that if my article shows up on “just published”, I actually receive more comments. Therefore, I really don’t know what the answer is but appreciate you sharing your thoughts with everyone on Triond.

I don’t understand the ‘hot content’ algorithm (nor the HOT USERS either, as there are users with just ONE article published and some of these sole articles are rather content diluted) but its true; once you do get a topic on Hot Content it is pretty easy to stay there with subsequent submissions. Everything the writer submits thereafter seems to land on Hot Content. I can’t say what their views are like but my experience suggests that it was 1000s of views. It used to be easy to get onto Hot Content. Heck, -I used to always have three or four items at one time on top-10. It seems much harder these days and one tries hard to not feel that it is favoritism or bias. I guess it’s just not my turn and I try to feel happy for the writer whom deservedly has one of the the coveted top-10 positions. :-)

I’m not so hot about being on the hot content. I’ve got articles with thousands of views but they’ve never qualified to be there. Good tips, though. Thanks.

LOL – again a try do explain it … still not explaining how articles from me with zero (that is none, zilch, 0) views and therefore zero comments and zero likes made it to the hot content …

    try again, please :D

Thanks for this! Now I think I know why some of my articles get short bursts of views just after they get lots of comments =)

Over the past few days, I’ve been having this amazing run of articles on the Hot Content. It started with ‘Reach For The Stars…’, then the next day I got ‘5 Tips To Make More Time’ on the Hot Content, the day after that (yesterday) I had ‘Why You Will Never Win…’ on the Hot Content and today, I’m on the Hot Content again!

I appreciate all of the views expressed here but I don’t think a stringent algorithm decides this – of what I’ve seen this trick that I’ve written this article about has worked brilliantly for me!

Sounds like a good formula for some people the problem is getting on the hot content list in the first place but i suppose you can only keep trying maybe one day i’ll get on. Great article glade this works for you.

Thanks for sharing. I’ve had an article on the hot list with one reader and no comment (then). I guess it is successful policy on Triond’s part to keep the algorithm a mystery – keeps people busy speculating.

i think triond give a chance to those newbie here… in my first active months here in triond, my articles are always in hot content weekly… even some of my country men does it… my article’s “six killer plagues in history” stays on top 1 for almost 4 months and my “10 amazing extinct animals” stays on top for 2 months! not to mention some of my other articles… but no matter how hard we try, we cant make it to hot content again and were wonderin why. lots of my friends here are always on hot content too… but not now!

I have had articles be #4 or #5 and do it with under 20-views(!!) and other article get 10,000 views in the first few days and NEVER gets listed on TOP-10…
