The One Thing Triond Beginners Should Never Attempt

Don’t like harsh criticism? Neither do I. If you don’t like people hating on you, don’t write about Triond. Here is my experience…

Triond is an awesome site. They pay you fifty percent of the revenue from any PPC ads that viewers might have clicked.

It’s just like a blog on blogger, but there is much more traffic to their sites. You can’t expect to make a lot of money, for example, after the first week writing on Triond, I made eight cents. This revenue gets bigger as you write more. The more exposure your articles get, the more people will read your articles, and more people will click on the ads.

I wrote about ten or thirteen articles about random topics ranging from health, to bigfoot, to writing in general. I didn’t make much from all that. In three weeks, I made fourty two cents.

But then I wrote something about what to write and what not to write about on Triond. It was called “Five things you should avoid writing about”  It made it to the hot content list. It was so popular, that experienced Triond writers absolutely hated that article, and me with it. But some people actually liked it. The article was a kind of bust, though. I didn’t know what was extremely popular in society and what was not. So I put down some advice about what to write about. I was just typing down some advice about what stuff you should write about. It was only what I could think about out of the top of my head. Nothing more. I just started writing. Little did I know that it would make the hot content list, or that people would hate it.

That one article got me over sixty cents almost singlehandedly. It was amazing, but I don’t suggest you do the same. Write these kinds of advice articles only after you have been writing for at least a year. Because if you do, the expert writers are going to do all they can to degrade your work. That article got bad comments like:

“Gravedig. I hate that I read this.”

“You seem to have broken your own rules! You have written about something you don’t know about. 1 month is not long enough to learn all about what works on Triond. As any successful Trionder and they will tell you that there are no certainties and there sre no fortunes to be made. It’s all hard work.. As for Bigfoot and Cell structures, believe it, or not, a good writer can make that interesting and get traffic to it.”

“I like Bigfoot. This article is something you should not write about if you have only been on Triond for one month. How can you know enough to tell everyone what not to do?”

These are some of the harsher comments. And one thing about the second comment. I never said that I was an expert, nor did I tell anyone what to do. I was just giving some advice on how you can get a good article. So what if I have been on Triond for only one month, I have experience writing. I have felt how it is to write about the five things that I have said not to write about. It’s not fun at all. And about Bigfoot and the atomic structure of acai berry, I was just giving examples of what I wasn’t comfortable writing about. Bigfoot can be made into a good article, I admit, but chemistry is something that is meant to be dull and boring. Only another Charles Dickens, or Harper Lee can get even close enough to make that into a great Pulitzer prize article.

I got some good comments ,too, from begginner Triond writers. It was comforting, but the harshness of the other comments hurt. So after a month on Triond, what I have learned is to not write about Triond. At least until a year or two of experience. And I will never do it again. I suggest you people with no experience whatsoever to not even try to write this type of article. For all of you experienced people that commented harshly on that article, I am sorry that I ever wrote it.

Wow, very calm way of handling it. I admire that you faced it humbly and not react with anger. I am pretty new too, thanks very much for the advice. I read the article and liked it. I look forward to reading more of your work. Happy writing!

Good article gourab, you have to look at the positives from that article. At least you know how to create good titles and you were expressing what was on your mind. People will always express their opinion, don’t put if off advancing and getting better with your writing career. Keep on writing :)

Lol i read most of the comments on your article that made it to top ten. It was pretty harsh, but heck you made money! Congrazts. I’d never be able to make it to top 10. The harsh comments people are just haters.

Great article. The people who left those comments were probably jealous you were on the Hot Content list and they never have been. Triond is a lot of hard work for no pay. I publish an article on triond and then post it else where and make more money elsewhere. Keep writing and don’t listen to what the “nasties” say. That was a great article.

lol. It’s not that bad. Come to think of it, those who commented also checked out your article. Their visits had increased traffic to that article. Liked this article, by the way.

If you visit the Triond forums, the So called ‘experts’ will pounce on you, they do on everyone.
You are a superb writer. The ‘experts’ envy you because they say,’oh no! Why did not I think about writing such an article!’. LOL! ;-)

OK, here’s my take on this: Rather than get mad about a negative comment, try to see if it has some validity. Yeah, there are a lot of jerks out there but there are also a lot of people who truly care about new writers and want to offer any help that a new writer would welcome. There’s no evil behind my comments; I truly care about writers.

I WANTED to comment on your “5 Things” article but I didn’t dare because I couldn’t trust that you would accept my comments in the spirit in which they were intended. I disagreed with some of your points and I’m sorry that I wasn’t comfortable sharing them after reading THIS article.

I’m sorry that some slimeballs hurt your feelings but not all negative comments come from a place of hate.

I understand where you’re coming from, gourab. Creative criticism is healthy. Insults are uncalled for. Writing is a creative expression and freedom of of speech allows you to express an opinion or give advice that you believed in. I read the article and it wasn’t so bad. I don’t think you were aiming for a Pulitzer.

I had some similar encounters in the forums on ChaCha, when I first started working as an sms guide. Some guides were very nice and answered my questions sans the snooty remarks. Some of the seasoned guides swooped down on me like vultures. They picked me clean over every little thing I said. You would have thought I sold government secrets to Osama Bin Laden. I avoided the forums for a while after that.

People could be a little more tolerant. I’m the newbie on the block here and I didn’t take an interest in anticipation of making money. I love writing and I need experience and the learning experience. I’m my own worst critic, so I will try not to take insults to hard here. I appreciate you preparing me for what may come.

This reminds me of one of my favorite quotes. Albert Einstein was a genius, but he was humble enough to say, “anyone who has never made a mistake, has never tried anything new.”
