The Next Topic for The Poetry Competition

On popular demand and based on submissions, I have decided to put the next topic up as an article.

Now I have have had emails and decided to try out something different before going into other forms of poetry writing. Its called Picture Relationship.

What is Picture Relationship??

Picture Relationship is connecting your work of art to the picture that you are putting up to support the topic that you have written about.

This is an art by itself as there so many pictures that are related to the topic that you are writing about, but which one is really THE ONE that throws out your work and its essence.

Here what I normally do:

  1. I normally select a picture before hand and develop thoughts on it.
  2. Relate the thoughts to the words or the colour or the object in the picture.
  3. Liven up those thoughts with words from the heart and use the intellect to direct the shaping to get people around to relate to the topic.

It is based on an old grammar technique that was used when I was in school. We were given a picture and told to compose stories based on the picture. It could be related to the surroundings, the person, the characteristics etc. It is how YOU the PERSON interpret the picture that is reflected in what is seen as a composition either in prose or poetry.

My Topic for the Week

The Topic for the week is the picture given below. Use the following questions before composing:

  1. What is the picture all about??
  2. What is the surrounding like??
  3. The People
  4. The words in the picture
  5. What does it make you think when you look at it??

I am not going to compose my poem on the topic, although I have done it in two instances in the past, one quite recently, I am leaving the flow of thoughts to you. Unleash your creativity and bring the picture to life.

The Picture:

Who will make it to the Next  Top 5 List??? Until next week, Happy Thinking and Relating…
