B Science Fiction Movie, The Planet of the Lesbians Debuts at the Metreon
Fourth and Mission Streets will never be the same after the latest episode of Doctor Blo, that underground B science fiction movie ‘The Planet of the Lesbians’ graced the screen of the Metreon. Throngs of fans waited in lines stretching for blocks and some had to wait for the next showing.
While the first installment, Doctor Blo (rhymes with who) introduced the character of the same name, a tall mad scientist from the planet Zitor, who fought against an army of robots, the sequel is about some artifacts that were unearthed during an archaeological dig in the south of France. These artifacts disrupt the earth’s communications and all Hades breaks loose, which necessitates the authorities calling in our hero and his trusty companion, Pedro.
The retro scenes that are incorporated into the fabric of the movie are refreshingly tacky and mixed in with some stellar digital wizardry supplied by Industrial Don and Magic, the whole becomes greater than the sum of its parts.
After modifying a Russian surplus vessel, the two proceed on an awe inspiring mission to the outer realms of space.
Along the way they are accompanied by strange creatures called the Plasmoids. They must target a black hole to reach their secret destination to collect the third artifact that holds the key to solving a looming danger that could destroy all life in the universe. Only Doctor Blo, with his trusty pilot Pedro, can save the universe from the terrible schemes of the Lizard People.
So “Activate the alpha-proton-x-ray-spectrometer!”
and grab some popcorn for a hair raising ride to the far corners of space to a distant planet where misfortune reigns, along with Queen Lazera, who has problems of her own to worry about. All the males of her planet have perished in a terrible meteor shower. She resorts to sending her treasurer upon a desperate mission. See the exciting clash of worlds that only Doctor Blo can quell. Or is this too big a calamity for even the accomplished Zitorian to come to grips with?
