I thought I’d have a crack at guessing how to get into the all-knowing Hot List. I may be a fairly new user but I thought I’ll take a shot.
The hot content list is where all Triond users want their articles to end up. If your article ends up in the Hot Content List your bound to get some extra views which of course means, more cash. Sounds great, doesn’t it but how does one get it.

Statistics I’ve seen and heard from other users show that Triond doesn’t pick the best articles depending on quality. I’ve seen some poor effort articles that make it to the Hot Content list. So what could it be?
Before you can begin to explore that idea, you must know a few things. If you go and look at the Hot Content list right now you will find out that their is 1 article from each of the different Triond partners. There is never 2 articles from the same site in the Hot Content list at the same time.
So that would mean, publishing an article on one of the missing websites would give you better chances to get in. Also, if a article in the Hot Content List has been there for a few days, you will know its going to change soon so go and write something so that your in the drawings.
Another way to look at it is that Triond doesn’t even chose who gets in. It could be every site nominating their top article for the week. As most of you know, If you go to Triond partner sites you will see that the ‘Top Articles’ are on the main page and you can be assured that a Hot Content article will be there.

If you had to chose a article to put in the Hot Content list, you would have to make sure that the article is professional. So, that covers the quality part. You would also have to make sure that there is no copyright infringement. So it would have to be your own work. That part is covered when your article is published but wait. What about pictures. Thats right, go look at a Hot Content list article. They have all given proper referencing. Giving links to the images they have used. You will find out that a majority of Hot Content list articles have done this.
I share my ideas with felow Triond users. I do not wish to keep them a secret becuase I am not that kind of a person. I also, like everyone else, want one of my articles to end up on the Hot Content List.
Getting into the Hot Content list is great but takes hard work. Remember, its not about quantity, its about quality.

This debate about how to get on the list is taking on a life of its own. It sure is generating a lot of articles.

Yes. I don’t know how to get into it, I’m just pointing out what features all articles who get in have.

Very good thoughts on Hot Topic List.
Points I think people need to keep in mind that is why articles may only have hav 1 like etc.. because they are topic no one would write about etc…
Thanks for sharing your ideas

Been on the Hot Content list many times and the top spot a half dozen times. Used to be you needed 1,000 views or more to make the list and at least 5,000 usually more like 10,000 views to make the top but neither is true anymore so they changed they way they formulate the list.

I agree with guy that this topic is generating a lot of articles as every one has his/her own opinion. But the actual answer is still unknown. Liked your article.

I guess all we can do is speculate. The Triond Gods have a mind and will of their own…:)

Ironically most of my articles that have appeared on the Hot Content list have not gotten as many views as many of those that have not. I think the topics you write affect your chances of getting on the list. Articles about writing, recipes, and pets seem to get on the list more often than some of the other topics.

Interesting observations Darkplanner..’..you will find out that their is 1 article from each of the different Triond partners. There is never 2 articles from the same site in the Hot Content list at the same time.’ I was particularly intrigued by that deduction..don’t know if you’ve seen my article re: the ‘Bathurst 1000′..it topped the list at Sportales for almost a week..but never made it to the Triond ‘hot list’..and yet..a writer from Triond had written a football article that was somewhere near the middle of the list at Sportales. Very interesting Darkplanner.

…and yet..a writer from Triond had written a football article that was somewhere near the middle of the list at Sportales..and yet he topped the ‘Hot List’ @Triond (sorry, forgot to finish what I was sayin’). I don’t begrudge that writer at all..but I’m guessin’ it’s something to do with views.

I enjoyed your article There’s lots of things like that I need to know. It would be nice to stay on “Hot Content”. I suspect you’ll be on it a lot.

Thank you for writing this! It brought up something I hadn’t previously thought of and that is the possibility of Triond not directly influencing the hot content list. Well done!
