This is not an advertisement, the economy is crumbling around us. We need to build our residual income in a more reliable fashion!
The economy is falling apart around us. People are desperately trying to earn second incomes from an online world of work. However as this happens we do not want to spread ourselves too thin, we should have a solid source of income from our writting efforts. Publishing the same article more then once is a bad idea as is publishing large amounts of bad articles on more sites then you can count in 5 seconds. I have been writting online for years now and have established three very effective streams of income online. I support only these three as I feel giving my work to yet another website weakens the strength of the three I know and love. We should all want the websites we choose to use to be the BEST getting us the best payment per view, more views and better support. Putting all our effort into only three websites I believe is the best way to do this. I suggest three only because of our current economy, if something should happen to one you don’t want to lose all your hard work! Therefore it is safest to only lose 1/3 of your income instead of all from your hard after work hours! I am sure we have all noticed as Triond gets more monthly views there are now multiple support staff members as well as constant development. This is caused mostly by us writing for Triond and earning Triond money (while we earn ourselves a tidy sum!). This is why it is so important to focus on three website you know will survive and you can help support by essentially “buying” their product and earning them income maintains your own income. I have chosen Bukisa as my second website due to its reliability and high Cost per mille and unique features. I am going to outline more why these three methods are best for each of us to use to support and grow our writting incomes.

Triond is in essence the old faithful of the online writing world, they have average level Cost Per Mille as well, low payouts, never been late, never not paid, paypal, anyone can join, large strong community. These all seem VERY beneficial to me, I cannot say for everyone but a site that has been around for 5+ years and has paid every month on the 15th in that time seems fairly safe to me. Triond will be around a very long time. The average Cost Per Mille I get is about $1.50 which isn’t bad at all when I know I will always get my payment. You also see all these people such as R J Evans who have been on Triond for years and making full time incomes off Triond (note: They also have personal blogs and use 1-2 other publishing sites.) Triond also has an established online presence, if you type in your article title it will always be the first result on search engines due to Triond high search ranking. As you write more and more you will always earn income off previously written articles on Triond they are never deleted. This is good as after 5 years of writting or so you will have a rather large article base that will continue earning you money as you write more and more!
A few more recent reasons Triond is one of my favorite and most used writting sites is the new charts they have introduced to show you where your views come from and how many you are getting. I believe social networking, stumble, digg etc. are all very useful. However I believe in finding new ways as well! This new chart shows you within a few days whether your most recent effort to promote your work has passed or failed. This is an invaluable asset as now you know “twitter” (for example) works extremely well for you while “digg”(for example) failed when the charts indicate 500 views and 50 views respectively.

Now the second chart they have introduced is not so much useful in a more views kind of way but more along the lines of motivation to continue. “Graphs were invented to get humans to improve. There’s something about a horizontal line that makes you want to see it go higher and higher.” (Triond blog) I have tested this theory, while the Triond views graph is rarely a straight line depending on weekends and holidays etc. It does however remain fairly constant. Isn’t it an amazing feeling when you write a new article and you see that line go up even just 5% and the new constant is just a little bit higher! I believe this is one of the nicest things Triond has ever added it encourages you to continue on! I have not seen any other sites that employ something to this effect or show you exactly where your views come from to help you out! Another Kudos to Triond!

Another thing Triond has over most sites it the ability to comment anonymously as well as being a member and commenting with your credentials. To me this is particularly important to myself and some other authors. I love nothing more then to read other peoples comments about my work. It helps me to improve my next article and/or fix the current one to make it better for my readers! Sites that limit commenting to members are foolish and make it hard to become a better writer without other peoples input.
This leads us into the community here at Triond. There is never a negative comment posted with credentials that I have seen they have all been positive and constructive in one way or another to the author. There is also the option to become someones friend which is 90% of the time reciprocated and you can both have live feeds to your friends work so you can read it and comment. I find having a few good friends will help you find embarrassing or hidden typos or misinformation in your articles. One of the first things I liked about Triond was when C Jordan became my friend, he helped me with nearly every article in one way or another, someone I had and still have no idea who he is. Now I read most all his work as soon as it’s published which is a benefit to both of us! You can make lots of friends and use the wonderful live feed Triond has given us!
One of the best features Triond has is the featured content section where you can see the most well written articles written recently. If you put a lot of effort into an article you can usually get it featured there and get a lot of views VIA this feature it is great for people who spend a lot of time on a single article!

Bukisa is the younger sibling of Triond (not to be mistaken with run/owned/operated, just similar site that is good!) Being newer it leaves some things to be desired such as reliability but for a few months now I have gotten my payments on time and the right amounts and usually early! I have found the Cost Per Mille of the Bukisa Index to be surprisingly high to not be a scam but they are legitimate for nearly a year they have operated.

Source: Bukisa
The display system for Bukisa is revolutionary and the best I have seen yet! You can have access to any category from the click of the mouse as well as being able to search one, two or all categories, popularity and most viewed. It also gives you an exact Cost Per Mille for that month which is rather nice and something most sites don’t offer, they simply say a % which for all we know may not be the actual amount we get. Also seen in the picture it is the double live feed for videos and written articles. Bukisa does not have a featured article area however the first thing anyone sees when coming to the Bukisa website is the 6 most recently published articles and videos. This is very nice as it gives you an immediate audience for your first few views. Most of whom are Bukisa members who will comment and help you with your work.
An interesting program Bukisa has is the unique referral system. It not only rewards you for helping your friends find Bukisa but will continue to do so for as long as they are a member of the site! It also continues through multiple levels as seen in the calculations below you get less and less per level but it is still a fairly good amount. I have never found a reliable publishing website that offers a legitimate referral system!
| Level | Members | Unique views | Direct Income |
Your income |
|
| My Content | 30,000 | $120.00 | 30,000/1,000*4 | ||
| 1st Level Friends | 30 | 150,000 | $600.00 | $150.00 | 150,000/1,000*4*25% |
| 2nd Level Friends | 60 | 300,000 | $1,200.00 | $75.00 | 300,000/1,000*4*25%*25% |
| 3rd Level Friends | 120 | 600,000 | $2,400.00 | $37.50 | 600,000/1,000*4*25%*25%*25% |
| Revenues per/m | $382.50 |
Bukisa was the first writting site to officially start using the feedback forum system. It is a system where each person gets 10 votes and can make any suggestion they want in the “forum” and they can choose to place 1-3 votes on the subject as can anyone else no more then 3 votes per one subject per person. There is not much discussion but ti allows users to show the people behind Bukisa what they are looking for when 90% of votes go on a topic the administrators are somewhat forced to implement that idea and it makes Bukisa a better place as well as opening development ideas more to members and it gives the proper priority to the authors on what features and updates they want when!

For those of us not familiar with what is on this guys shirt it is an RSS feed. Something that updates people everytime you publish a new article! This is something standardized by Bukisa and allows people to constantly be up to date on your work! I believe most sites use it now but Bukisa pioneered it for writting sites! It is a very useful tool for most! The more your feed spreads the more you can earn!
Twitter is also something Triond has adopted that Bukisa started, they have a built in option to stream your live content through to your twitter account updating all your twitter followers instantly on what articles, comments gotten and what comments you’ve left! It is a great tool that you simply need to plug and use!

There are many benefits and drawbacks both of a personal blog! The benefit is you can post anything on any topic in any format you want! You can quote, source and invent anything you want in your articles, you are writting for an audience not a website! There are virtually no restrictions! Blogs can be as long or as short as you like, anything you want at all!
One of the serious upsides of a personal blog is control over advertisements. Not only do you earn 100% of your articles income you have complete and total control over what kinds of ads, minimum ad price, and most importantly the placement of the advertisements on your website. I constantly find myself editing articles because an inconvenient advertisement cuts off an important paragraph or a picture bumps a whole article down 20 lines due to an advertisement in the way. With a personal blog you can simply say, no advertisement here and format your article any way you want. I find this to be desirable also because you have control over your own income. If you choose an advertisement firm such as google or bidvertiser you are 100% going to get paid every penny you earn where with some independent sites you might not. You also have the freedom of choosing the type of ads, you won’t be writing an article about saving the rainforest while the website displays an advertisement about genuine rain forest tree furniture!
A personal blog is mostly about freedom while remaining stable I also have known people who use a personal blog as a launch pad for all their other sites with quality links and custom articles while also second publishing every article they write for a site on their blog. You can do this but I wouldn’t recommend republishing.

I have gotten a bit off topic explaining the benefits of the three sites I have personally chosen for my side income. The topic is a bit vast and vague all at once. I am a strong believer and a diverse “portfolio” not just in investing but in nearly everything in life this is why the three separate sites are so important. In all likelyhood you will chose the 3 best sites you can find but still one may fail at some point which is a tragic turn of events for your secondary income. However I firmly believe any more then 3 is highly counter productive. You should try to build a steady income from 3 sources as this won’t overwhelm you there is also a secondary reason, competition. You may think, getting people to write for you then earning money off the advertisements that run off THEIR work is a pretty simply business plan. The funny thing is, so is making a burger that people will buy. Just as with fast food there are only so many spot available for a successful restaurant, the others will go bankrupt even if you visit them on occasion they are just not strong enough. this theory applies to everything including get paid to write websites. In our times of economic down turn it is more important then ever as advertisements decrease in value and some websites purely can’t get any ads at all! This means we should support only buy stock in the 3 strongest and most reliable ones. If 10 websites make $1 off you a month or 3 websites make $4 off you a month which do you think will be most beneficial to you? You have seen Triond and Bukisa both now have large paid support staff who are here to help us all day everyday! Do you think this would be possible if we all published 3-4 times as many places reducing the amount of articles on Triond by quite a lot! The competition for advertisements and site members is stiff in any industry especially ours, some people think they can make a quick buck off people writting for them but they do not prepare properly for the task ahead. Bukisa was prepared and Triond was first making them both power house known by most online writers and the personal blog has been around longer then I have, haha!
You will also notice as you come to support only 2-3 websites you will get a following, be it on twitter. the website itself or ideally an outside website. Only when you have 50-60 articles in one place will people start to really notice you and follow your writting as well as get to “know” you from your work. This makes people want to read more if you have a nice voice or are informative. They may view your “profile” on the website and view even more work they would never have found without it! Another smaller thing is, payouts. If you have to wait over 2 months to reach the initial payout for 10 different websites it is rather discouraging, if you focus on 3 streams of income I guarantee you you will reach the payouts the first month and every month thereafter. This is encouraging as you see the money come to your paypal account every month spurring you on to write more articles!
Just remember we should not support the websites trying to steal from the ones we love, they will fail eventually leaving us stranded and we already left our loved sites which then failed with no supporters. Where are we then? The economy is crumbling we need to play it smart! Diversify but keep it manageable!
I will promptly reply/edit to any comments you feel would be constructive, I look forward to reading your thoughts!

An excellent article with sensible advice.
I would like to point out, though, that I don’t make a full time living off Triond! If only I did!

my apologies! I would assume you make a fair amount however!
No need to specify, but more then myself I would bet!

great advice – I have a similar strategy so it is good to see you advocating it here. I think, like you, I need to leave poetry behind!! (some of my stuff has received 300/400 views but it pays so poorly) your article has helped me there. Keep up the good work – revivor
