Everyone here at Triond wants the same thing. We want people to read our articles and become better writers. Support your fellow Triond writers with comments; they will know that you are reading theirs and they will read your articles.
Writing comments are almost always the best thing you can do for your other Triond writers. We all want to be successful like RJ Evans, Redburn and The Stickman just to name a few with amazing figures for reads on their articles. When you post an article with Triond, you have tons of potential friends with a like interest, your Triond brothers and sisters, who are interested in writing and getting people to read their articles. Very simply, we can and need to help each other out; leaving comments, I think, is the best way.
With so much information on the Internet and the scarce resource of time, we cannot read everything that we may want to. Therefore, you need a catchy title to your article to get people to start reading. Make sure your title is snazzy to attract me to read your article. When someone reads my article, and took the time to comment on it, I will “friend” that person for sure. I will then take a look at their line of writing. I may not be interested in everything that (s)he writes; I will not promise that I will read every article. However, now that this person is a friend, I will see every new article you write. I will wander around your page to see if you wrote something in the past that may interest me.
When you read someone’s article, let them know that you did by posting a comment. If you are busy and cannot write much, just say, “nice job”, “good piece”, etc. That way, that person knows that you are reading his-her articles or are still reading your articles. Your name is still fresh in his-her mind; they will think about your articles and looking through them, probably. If you have the time to leave something longer and have something to say, even if it is constructive criticism, leave it on the artilce. You will be helping that person improve or to highlight something that they did good.
Also, don’t forget that most people will read, or at least glance the comments of the article they read. The people reading the article and your comments will also have your name in your mind. The readers and the authors of the article are a good target audience for your articles.
As with anything, the Golden Rule of Jesus in the Gospel applies. “Do unto others as they would have do unto you.” Givers gain; if you help someone out, especially if you help first, you will reap the benefits. Enjoy writing and reading and commenting.

Hello jjjdoe! Thank you for reading

jjjdoe just made her first friend! I did not read all of her articles, but I saw one about 24 and Jack Bauer. I read that one and left a comment.

It’s hard to do sometimes (comment a lot) but I very much enjoy comments myself, makes you feel a little appreciated.

Do you actually think you’re the first person to come up with this? This “idea” (not the best term, as “idea” implies that thinking has taken place) is posted almost daily on the forums.
I would take the time to explain why the strategy laid out in this article is basically idiotic, amateur-hour nonsense, but I’ve done so countless times already, and people are usually inclined to cling to their bad ideas regardless of how much effort is put into illustrating why they are, in fact, bad.
In short: If you are relying on other Triond users for views, you are failing.

Great 2 more friends. enjoyed Darla’s poem on the coming fall and Apple Duck on Farmville.

Thanks Bo Jack!
Only way, thanks for commenting. Basic- sure
idiotic- Don\’t think so.
I don\’t think it is a bad idea at all as other have agreed.
I am new to Triond and learning the ropes and getting more into writing. If you think my only plan is to get Triond people to read my articles, you are wrong.

is just one of a few articles I have written on the topic.

“idiotic- Don\’t think so.”
I think we already established that there wasn’t a whole lot of thinking involved in formulating this strategy.
“I don\’t think it is a bad idea at all as other have agreed. ”
Consensus doesn’t indicate much. Given the right population, you could also achieve a consensus on “2+2=Zebra” and “The earth is flat”.

So you’ve managed to write TWO bad articles on the subject? Grats.

Thanks for being so interested, only way!
Have you written any articles on the matter?
September 21st, 2009 at 2:11 pm
I’ve written myriad forum posts on the subject. If you spent some time there, you’d find a number of seasoned users who will tell you that what you describe in this article is a complete waste of time.
At its ABSOLUTE BEST, it could MAYBE provide you with low triple digit views. At best. If you care about your viewcount, you should be aiming for 10,000 plus.
September 21st, 2009 at 2:19 pm
I am aiming high. Again, this is only one idea of many. I will read your stuff on your forum.

September 21st, 2009 at 6:18 pm
No problem John. I like much of your stuff.
September 22nd, 2009 at 7:37 pm
You are building a readership for your work in a very systematic way. Eventually, just because of the nature of the Internet, this readership will grow beyond Triond. You’re on the right track.
September 22nd, 2009 at 8:44 pm
Thanks Guy. I am very slowly, but surely getting there to being a better writer who actually gets people to read my stuff.

It’s a good principle to live by when writing in community sites like Triond. Comments are indeed valuable. I am one of those who read and even get myself entertained by comments.
September 24th, 2009 at 6:27 am
nice article. although i kinda already had figured that if i start commenting on articles that attract my attention, or my friends articles that i might get some comments back. But it made me even more hopeful that if i continue commenting that maybe, just maybe, i’ll get some comments and more reads and also more articles to read. i’m going to take initiative here and add you because you are a friendly person with a good view on life or atleast reading and commenting. =)
September 24th, 2009 at 7:12 am
You have one more friend yourself. I hope you post about your Bible lit class.
