Successful Online Writing: How to Find Thousands of Views (and Still Write What You Want)

Everyone who fancies themselves a writer has the same dream…. reaching an audience and making money. But while it can be done if you’re willing to put in the time and effort, it’s like anything else in life; a whole lot easier with a road map.

‘How to’ articles are a dime a dozen on writing/ publishing sites; if I had a dime for everytime some genius has joined a site, listened to some bits and pieces of advice, and thrown together a 3 paragraph piece of dribble about how to get rich with a cute name, I’d never have to work again. I’ve been in the writing and publishing game for years, both on and offline, and I can only guarantee you one thing…. there is no easy way. There are no shortcuts. What I have done is consolidate some of the more accurate articles that take you step by step through the process. Not all are mine, mind you, and I will throw some additional tips out in the end. So here, in one package, is virtually everything you will need to become at least a moderately successful online author.

And finally, (don’t bother with this part unless you’ve worked your way through the other articles; it won’t mean much) the last peice of the puzzle: finding forums to promote in.

If you have written an article on the NFL draft, you obviously don’t want to promote it in a dog lover’s forum. You want to keep it subject specific. First step is to Google the subject; your NFL article should have you googling ‘football forums’, ‘NFL forums’ and such. Sign up for as many as you have time for, remembering the steps you learned in “How to Market Your Articles in Forums and Chat Rooms”.

If you need more, there are lists to help. Here are a few.

Top Forums:: Top Site List will show you some you would probably never have thought of.

And there are countless more; one has but to (once again) do the legwork.

I am not the most successful writer on Triond; far from it. But I have been fairly successful, and with the exception of the big dogs (R.J. Evans and such) My articles spend as much time on the hotlist as anyone here, so this stuff works. Hopefully this will be a help to writers who are just getting started, or even for those ready to take the next step. Good luck!

Great article with alot of good help tips,but I have to say this in my own defense. I am a very talented writer and triond is a good site to write on this is true.I write for me and do greatly appreciate those who read my things.But doesn’t care about the money much since I already know I will make enough to do much with.But will re-read this when time allows since I a few things caught my interest.

thanks for the information you are right about forums and stuff because 2 of the most highly paid articles I have on triond came from me putting them up on subject specific websites. and i saw hundreds of views just in one day! so great info and great tips!
