Some Weird or “Rural” Methods of Luring Someone You Secretly Love

“Lumay” is the word used to describe a local love potion concocted by rural folks to help people with their love problems. Unrequited love? Love gone sour? Third party?  According to these local love potion experts a woman can still reclaim the love of a husband or lover who had gone astray by using certain methods.  Some women would even pay a very high price  for a potion just to win the love of someone. The “lumay” is usually sold by old folks who spread their wares of roots for various ailments and love problems on the sidewalk. The “lumay” is said to be the most expensive for it could cost a love-struck person thousands of pesos for a bit of that love potion. Because of the high cost of “lumay” women who are madly in love but are not loved in return have managed to come up with their own version of this “lumay” and I hate to say this, a lot of modern women I know who are in the situation I mentioned had tried these love tricks.  For instance, a girl who is crazily in love with a boy will have a chance of being loved back if she is able to have a stand of his hair.  She will then hide this strand of hair under her pillow and this will supposedly make the boy lose some sleep because he will be thinking of her.  For as long as his hair remains hidden under the girl’s pillow, the boy will be unable to sleep until he can’t take it anymore and thus, make the much-awaited proposition.  Another yucky “lumay” which local girls do is by inviting the boy to their house for a sort of party.  Then, when nobody is looking, the girl will mix “something” to his drink.  This something has to do with the girl’s dirty knickers which she will try to swish with his drink before giving it to him. Another method that love-struck girls use is to get hold of the boy’s picture and in the evening pierce with a needle the contour of his image in the photo while chanting his name.  This will also make the boy uncomfortable and could not stop thinking of you after that.
