In this independent site review, we are beaming our searchlight on a Christian publishing site that on closer inspection, is not so christian in it’s adopted business model.
Faithwriters.com is an online content publishing platform that hinges its marketing strategy on them being a site that publishes Christian content but their is something really Unchristian about one of their income generation strategies.
If you google online Christian publishing site/content, faithwriters.com is one of the top ranking sites that will come up. I took the time to research their platform and these are some of the things that I came up with.
-They publish other content besides what one would term as being purely Christian. This is not bad in itself, it just shows that they chose to emphasize on an area that they feel they have the best strategy to adopt and utilize as far as being an online money making platform is concerned. Besides, the other content usually have a Christian perspective or background to it, otherwise it is family oriented.
-They are an online money making platform and nobody should doubt this. They charge their members who want to really benefit from the internally closed system they have set up and also provide other services like ebook listing that are chargeable. So with this review, we are going to look at them as a purely online money making platform.
One of the money making strategies they have adopted is that people who publish content on their sites are only granted access to the wider audience of faithwriters.com through an internal emailing system that they have to pay for to access.
The promise is that some of the messages may include job offers for the content publishers or people who want one permission or the other to publish or buy the content posted by the content writer on faithwriters.com.
When you want to publish a post/article, you are given 3 options to choose from as it has to do with how you want your article to be displayed. There is a Not For Sale, For Sale, and Free To Share.
The idea is that those who will email you may be interested in your article one way or the other and it may be financially profitable for you.
This is a very good money making strategy as far as online money making platforms are concerned. So what then is the unchristian thing about it?
The whole feel of the system adopted to make money and still attach Christianity to it is not right.
-The content publisher supplies content. He or she is not payed for this, rather they are doing a ‘Christian’ service of blessing the faithfuls. But other content publishing sites will at least compute payments for your content based on popularity and other variables.
-Now they supply content and are adding value to your site ie faithwriters.com and you are making money through this. So you are making money through them and they are not making money through you -a lopsided reward system is in place here.
-At the same time, you give them a ‘hope’ of making money by your emailing system. You are already making money but all you give them is a ‘hope’.
-You are not only giving them a ‘hope’, you are actually(and unbelievably) charging them for that ‘hope’. This is very wrong and really unchristian.
Every thing that is in faithwriters.com that will add monetary value to the content publisher who is actually the engine room of this content publishing site is tied to them paying for it whereas they are not being payed for the value they are providing.
Even the ebook listing service is not free and this online money making platform is a classic example of a site that does more of the taking without really giving.
There is no reward system in place that is all inclusive, you have to pay to enjoy any benefit of this online money making platform that uses Christianity as its main money making strategy.
They are providing a service that can easily be outdone by anyone who cares to use their own platform or create one to provide a similar service. The only thing they need to do is create a better reward system.
Any online money making platform that doesn’t give as much as it takes is not just going to fail but can be called a fraud. But it would be difficult for faithwriters.com to fail because of its Christianity tag.
This is because Christians who are into online publishing usually place more emphasis on being given the opportunity/platform to share their views and thoughts than if a good reward system is in place. So it is more or less a stroke of genius on the part of faithwriters.com for them to have an image of being an online Christian content publishing site.
Is there a way forward for them? This may not be for them since it seems as if they have got a good thing going for them and they don’t really have any reason or incentive to change. But if you are a Christian content publishing site that want to out perform faithwriters.com, read and implement any of these.
- Clone/mirror the faithwriters.com money making system but add these little tweaks.
-Create a semi-closed emailing system. Those that want to be contacted by interested parties will have you as a go between(just like essaywriters.com). You get a cut or they are charged for it after payment has been made.
-Create a system where content publishers/interested parties can meet without giving personal details(like freelancer.com) or a bidding system for articles posted in which your platform is the one representing your content writers. So if someone wants to buy the article or is seeking permission to have it published they will have to go through your platform and you will get a commission.
-Pay content providers some form or revenue, maybe from a collective pot as a form of passive income for even having their content on your platform.
The whole idea is to look at where faithwriters.com is glaringly lacking, that is in rewarding content providers and device a system that betters it.
Conclusions
-Faithwriters.com is an online money making platform that has its market segment well oiled.
-It is not a site that I will recommend to any content provider as such because they take more than they give.
-They are in a segment that is dieing for competition and they can be easily out performed if the competition just focuses on creating a more robust reward system.

I just want to say that I have found Faithwriters and those who run it to be friendly and caring people. In fact, they have just removed my 500 membership at my request, due to the fact that I am having financial difficulties at this time although I am about three months shy of the full year membership they desire which is clearly stated when you sign up.
The membership that you pay for is in my opinion, worth it and comparable to other writing sites that offer paid services. I have not found anything “unchristian” on the site or about the site.
I would recommend them to others who are looking for a safe, Christian environment to write in and to learn more about the writing craft.
