Tis the seaon to be jolly and what better way to spread of that cheer (not to mention spread the word, in this case my words) is a shameless plug of one of my flash fiction stylings over at the Camel Saloon.
If you are a writer and looking to spread your words around, especially if you write poetry or flash fiction, I suggest checking out online ezines like The Camel Saloon and publishing your material. You may not make any money, but what you are doing is building up a portfolio of writing, which you can later try to submit as a chapbook or even try to go the self-publishing route and publish a collection of poetry or short stories through sites like Lulu or CreateSpace.
It is also a good way to perfect your craft by looking at what othe people are writing about and see what editors like. In many cases, depending on the journal you submit to, some editors will even offer feedback to help you polish pieces.
Flash fiction is the latest literary craze and it takes practice to perfect just as writing Haiku. Personally, I find writing flash more challenging and also at the same time, I find that it has helped me perfect my writing in choosing my words carefully, showing more than telling.
If you are up for the challenge, I wish you success with your flash fiction endeavors.
In the meantime, enjoy the story.
