Is it worth a try? Perhaps. It depends. Maybe.

The online income experience requires experimentation and literally hundreds of hours online performing research. It may require a purchase or two to see what all the hype is about and in the end, you may change your mind.

Easy money it is not. It is not to be assumed that because you have previously published, you will become an online sensation. Just as in life, it is best to take nothing for granted.

Having said that, I am happy to share my journey. It began sporadically and gradually has escalated. We’ll begin from where I am today.

Occasionally my articles are purchased from sites like Triond, and Constant Content. I have spent the past two years sporadically advocating on social issues at sites like Gather.

Since 2006, without a concrete attempt to earn extra income, but keeping in mind the possibilities, I earned about $200. Forty-six articles were released to earn the income. I didn’t attempt to time myself so there is no way to know the amount of personal work invested. The average is $4.35 per article.

Definitely not a huge amount of income but not bad for not trying.

I won’t pretend to be a freelance expert. While not short on writing skills, my strengths extend more into strategic planning and grassroots implementation. I write what I know and miraculously at times, it garners interest.

Writers are interested in everything. We read extensively. My best-selling articles are a mixture of personal experience and technical research into management issues. A great writer can turn information into an interesting story with more than one ‘aha’ moment inserted into the content. Remember that.

To date, I don’t blog religiously, don’t buy in to advertising or invest in other marketing that so many seem so intent upon selling to us all. What I have decided to do is write ten blog entries a day for ten days and report the results. Today is November 11, 2008.
