Online Writing Site Closes Your Account?

This article discusses the reasons why some people get banned from online writing.

Writing online is a privilege, on a number of levels.  Some of these privileges include extra money, sharing knowledge, gaining knowledge, meeting new people, and making new friends.  However, many people tend to get caught up in the moneymaking aspect of writing, rather than just having fun with it.  As a result, some people do get a little greedy, and this can lead to the expulsion of online writing sites.  This article discusses some of the things that lead to expulsion from online writing sites.

Plagiarism is a big no.  When you plagiarize, you basically turn in work that is not your own.  It simply is not right or moral.  If you plagiarize someone else’s work and not give them proper credit for it, then it could get you banned from an online writing site.  Plus, plagiarizing is an offense, so do not do it.

Spamming your work can also get you banned from a site.  What I mean by spamming is pasting your article URL to peoples’ inboxes.  Sending your URL to the inboxes of your fellow online writers is considered spamming.  I have heard many reports of people getting their account closed because they kept sending their URL’s to people’s inboxes.  I guess the only reason why I can see this as spamming is because it makes you look desperate for page views, but other than that, I really never have had a problem with it, but the online writing sites do.

Writing offensive material can also get you banned.  If your material contains vulgarities, threats, insults, fake news etc., then you could be banned form the site.  Now, we do have the freedom to write about what we want on sites like Triond, but if too many people complain, the writing site will investigate, and if they do see offensive material, they can close the account.  They simply to want to be represented in such a way, and I do not blame them.
