You mentioned that you don't have time to read all of your friends' work every day - I think that most of us are in the same boat. I have also noticed that I get more hits on the articles that I just spewed out stream of consciousness style than on the ones I spent more time researching and editing, I have written several articles that I'm sure would be worth an A as a term paper in a university class, but they didn't get many hits. Unfortunately, my brain doesn't always spew out hilarious content on demand. I would be interested in reading historical articles. You should give it a try. Writing stories (while a lot of fun) requires a lot of work and doesn't really pay well. On the other hand, writing about how to use natural and pretty cheap stuff to clean your house pays relatively well as do articles about writing and the one article I wrote about D&D. The big difference between us, I guess, is that I am really interested in history and stuff like that. Socyberty pays OK but that's what I'm interested in so...
