Motivational Goal Setting for Triond Writers

Triond runs many monthly challenges as motivational goal setting for its writers.
It seems that an additional 10% to 30% is enough to motivate people to write more, read more and comment more.

It seems that an additional 10% to 30% is enough to motivate people to write more, read more and comment more.

That does not mean that you need to wait till the next challenge in order to write.

All of us can set our personal targets.

Triond has many statistics to show us how well we have done.

We just have to use existing statistics for the purpose of motivational goal setting.

What are some of the most important statistics?

1.  Page impressions

When we click on the Page Impressions badge, we can see a number to show us how many more page impressions to get the next badge.

We can improve on the page views by social networking internally or externally.

For example, we can set a goal of reading and making 30 comments every day.

That is likely to improve our immediate page views.

If we want more page impressions, we can use social bookmarking services, such as join Reddit, Redgage, Stumbleupon, Digg and others.

It takes time, but page impressions will improve.

2.  Articles

The surest way to earn more is to write more articles.

Write articles about how to do this or that, and not poetry.

Write articles with certain keywords that are searchable, and that means when you write about a person, avoid using he or she.  Use the full name, nick name and other recognizable name.

Write at least an article a day to increase your earnings.

No effort, no gain.

3.  Earnings

All of us check our daily earning.

If we want to use earning as part of the motivational goal setting, we have to set long term goal.

For example, to earn $240 from Triond every year.

That means $20 per month.

If you have Google Adsense, you can use the combined income from Adsense and Triond for goal setting.

This goal is realistic if you are making $10 a month.

If you are just making 50 cents per month, you have to write like crazy or else you will be disappointed, and give up writing completely.

Hard work definitely brings result.  If possible, motivational goal setting should focus on the number of articles or page impressions, and not on earnings.

It is impossible to control your daily amount.  There are some days when readers click like crazy, and you have ten dollars from Google Adsense.

There are days when you have a thousand page views, but not a single cent.
