Most Common Coments on Triond

Any guess!!!

Believe it or not, sometimes it feels many of the comments that we all received are just for the sake of it. Sometimes even without reading the article completely or at all!

Honestly I too did that and many times, although I did read the main points, as they might be important for me to read.

The most common comments sent or received by me are:-

Good article

Great story/poem

Keep it up

I enjoyed it

I really liked your article

Nice writing style

Well expressed, etc.

But honestly the real appreciation is in reading the article and leaving an honest comment whether good or bad! What do you say my friends

Leaving a comment is fine, but we do want people to read ours as well. The article may have been great, good or so-so, but by leaving a comment you are letting the author know that you read it. Maybe they will return the favor in kind. So saying something like I read yours please read mine might be more truthful. Every once in awhile I get long-winded, so the short comments save more time which allows me to leave more comments. I guess it is better to hit the like button unless there is something worthwhile to mention. Thinking out loud.

I write comments for close to 100 people at Triond..off and on over a period of 4 days..and for approx. 3-4 hours each of those 4 days..I still give honest feedback..I don’t like reading crap but I do..and I still give honest feedback..it’s simple..if you have nothing to say..or if you can’t be bothered..just don’t comment..’like’ the article instead and let the person know of your intentions so they can reciprocate..what ticks me off..is when you spend the time and make the effort to comment on peoples’ articles..and they don’t do the same for you..they must be making hundreds of dollars eh?

I received many messages from people saying that they added me, please comment on theirs. Out of courtesy, I replied them, thanked them and also commented on theirs, but some did not return after that or even comment on even one of my articles yet they added me just for the sake of having me read theirs. It is okay for me, as my main intention to write in Triond is not for money, as what people said, writing poems don’t earn much. Frankly, my electric bill online definitely cost more than the earnings. There are times I also gave those standard SOP comment, because there are times when we really don’t know how to comment, but just to support the writers, to boost their morale to continue writing further, of course when the articles really relate to us, we will say more, but hope others don’t find us talking nonsense or long-winded.
also one thing, Triond allow us to write any topic, if people think that we must only write those professional articles and not those crap articles, then I will have to say bye bye to Triond too.
    Interesting discussion here.

That’s just the way it is sometimes.

I too have sometimes left such one word or two words comment. I don’t deny the fact. I never comment on any article without reading through it; I atleast take time in glancing through the main points.

Sometimes you want to say something, but don’t really have much to say. Based on my experience, only a small proportion of people do make a comment. Even a “good work” is nice to get. I do prefer comments that talk about the content of the article to comments on how well it is written.

We all do that at times. Because we all need backlinks for our Blogs or Articles. http://hubpages.com/hub/Why-do-we-need-Comments-on-our–Blogs-and-Articles

There are people and I am one that just hit the like it button out of time constraint. Nothing to do with not wanting to write a comment at all!

I totaly agree with you. Here in Triond it seems we shy away from being honest or perhaps we don’t have an opinion. But it does get tiring when we people only comment so that you can also leave a coment.

    Nice reflections

This is quite thought provoking. I had to stop for a moment to decide if I too leave comments sometimes that really do not say much to the author. I do like to leave some type of comment just to let the author that I did in fact read their article.

We should be smart when commenting other’s article. Give an insightful feedback. That way, other ‘triond geeks’ would comment you back. This a thought provoking article. Thanks!

Comment with an intention to contribute something new to the article.

I least by leaving a brief comment my friends know I have dropped by and I took the time to read them. I try to never leave nasty or hateful comments. If I really have enjoyed an article the comment is longer.

I read every article I comment on, many times I leave one or too words comments because I am reading so many articles a day that I either don’t have the time for long comments, or there is little to say.

Everyone likes helpful comments, but just letting someone know you took the time to read their article is also important.

In my view, it’s always worth taking the time out to make proper comments as long as they are positive and constructive

You made really great points. I have seen a lot of comments like these. I take it to mean that they have read it and are letting me know that they did. I understand that people don’t have the kind of time to leave long comments about my work.

I wonder sometimes if those who leave those kind of comments really read the articles.

As for me, I always give feedback or share my short experience related to the topic.

The most common comments on Triond you mention are absolutely trite to me – where’s the support in praising or criticizing a good article? I usually write my comments in a few sentences – and I mean complete sentences.
