Mindless Short Stories

This is the introduction to my first published book, Mindless Short Stories.

Death…what is death? It is odorless, yet it stinks; it is chaotic yet it is calm. Death is not a god yet it is worshipped; it is invisible yet it is all around us. It is inescapable-it is hated, it is loved; death is there when you’re born and welcomes you when you perish-you’re born to die. Death gives hope of a better future or it crushes your dreams. Death is feared and it is embraced. It is the pinnacle of one’s life; it is our friend and our worst enemy. It is called on for help, and it is rebuked. Death can not be tamed—but people try; it can not be bartered with and it can not be talked down. Death is always watching, always waiting-waiting for you.

I would suggest reading this book in the light. While only some of the stories depict death in strange ways, they are true in it’s self, and not to be taken too lightly. However if you are a brave soul and not too afraid of the shadows then go ahead and turn all the lights off except for your reading light. Some are indeed Mindless and might have to be read a couple of times. Some of the locations are real and if you happen upon it in your day to day adventures do not be too alarmed, unless of course you are exploring during the dark hours of the day, then I would suggest you turn around make a hasty retreat. Whether the stories frighten, perplex your mind or just make you think, all of them have hidden meanings and talk about the moral compass of today’s society, you in particular. There are unspeakable evils in this world so be careful where you tread and on whom for someone is always watching whether it be god or death. I shall finish on this note, a quote from a young man, a godly man, from over a thousand years ago:

SUBMIT YOURSELVES THEREFORE UNTO GOD. RESIST THE DEVIL, AND HE WILL FLEE FROM YOU.                   JAMES 4:7    44-50AD
