Making Money Writing Online

For a while I looked at the Internet as something out of the blues when I hear people say that they are making money online, I begin to wonder, but all these changed dramatically when I discovered the goldmine that is called online writing.

Four years ago I started my journey on the Internet, as a newbie completely ignorant of what obtains on the net, I only check my mail and that will perhaps be once in three or even a month intervals. But all that changed when I attended my first Internet booth camp and the bug caught on and I have never looked back since I caught the bug fever of writing, which is my passion in life.

Naturally I underwent the adventure series of trying to put everything I learn into practice and this cost me lots of wasted time and I found some of these thing time and energy consuming, not until I hit upon a niche that I could sit down and think coolly did I relax.

Writing online, can you make money over the Internet from it? The answer to that question is Yes and No. We will try to see how both answers will directly or indirectly affect us from a first hand knowledge.

Yes, many writing sites abound on the Internet, but you need to know the sites that are alive and those that are dead. In my search, without knowing the ways of the Internet I registered my mail with many sites all in the hope of making money, but alas my hopes were cut short as I either will not get any feed back or will lose track of the site itself.

How then do you identify sites that are not optimally functional in your writing career?

The first thing I check out is the number of visitors or the amount of time that others have logged in or visited the site, a good site will always show you this somewhere on the left hand side of the bottom home page, look out for it and you will quickly know the rating of that site.

Another method is to notice if the forums and blogs on that site are working to effect, since most of the freelancers on that site will want to have a place to meet and interact, so try and visit the forum of that site to see what the members are discussing about.

Another way of knowing sites that are worth the effort is when you receive or get job postings, do you get a feedback about that job or the job goes into limbo just like a candle blown out by the wind?. If you get feedback then you can at the very least know the position of the job bid you placed. I was registered on a site and I kept posting bids without knowing who won the bid or if it was canceled, just nothing, I was in the dark.  A good writing site will post you messages of how the bid is going and get your mind prepared to either do the job or forget it altogether.

Check out the payment processor that any site has, although even the bad ones will tell you they use Pay pal as the payment processor and get you to register but that is the end of the story, since you are not doing any job, how can you be paid.

Also make sure you read articles about any site you see, either good or bad. It will help shape your writing and the course you want to take, reviews are a great way of knowing what is behind the scene as it will be unbiased in nature.

Below are some sites that I will, without fear recommend even in my dreams to any would be aspiring writer on the Internet, they are not in any order of importance or ranking.

Rentacoder.com .One of the sites that I find interesting to write on, they have a policy that even some sites will envy, and once you fail to deliver the job owner can take you up to the court for arbitration and if you are guilty you pay a penalty fine. There payment method is smooth and easy to follow with four payment options to pick from.. Try them out.

Helium.com. When I first saw this site I felt it was a joke, not until I registered with them and now if I want to work away from bidding and sort I go to helium and pick up an article topic to write on and hope for the best. They have two sections that writers can really explore and make money, the writing contest where you contest with others to earn cash prices after the articles are submitted and the readers of the site pick the best three for cash prices, and the freelance market, where you get to write articles for people with specially niche that you will find very challenging and tasking. If you are into doing research and feeling lazy to compete with other bidders then take a stroll to this site and be amazed at the things you will see.

Triond.com. Another site I felt was a joke, I was writing and posting articles by the dozen to another site hoping to get noticed, but I never knew I could write any article I want on any subject and get paid for that same article. It sounded too good to be true, but hey, what the heck, lets try it out and bang, I posted one and two days later I visited the site and I was hooked. Now I post articles nearly every week.

Mylot.com. I have been on sites that send me questions every week to help disturbed members of that site to find solutions to the problems bothering them, but I never knew you could get paid for expressing your own feelings or comments until I stumbled upon this site and like I said I am hooked to my Adam’s apple on this, and I make sure I make serious posts and comments on the site. You payment rising will depend on how active you are on the site.

Associatedcontent.com. One of those sites on the Internet you can never think exists. I feel into this site when I read an article about the site and I made up my mind to explore the site and what I found I like, so here I am today at the site writing to get paid, although you need quality content to be able to make money on this site the challenge is awesome to those who can, for you need a thousand reviews to earn good money.

Other sites like suite 101, Elance, Odesk are great but just a little too ridge on the surface, but you can really make a living writing online over the Internet. Happy freelancing

Good article. I was wary of Triond at the start, too since scams are all over the internet. Until I got my first payment and bang! I have become a Triond addict.
