Love: What It Really is to Us

Love is to me, the most powerful emotion given to us from God. It is what causes us to do most of the things we do today. To me, to be able to feel love, is absolutely the greatest gift from the one above. It has a huge impact on us, that actually make us human. Try to imagine a life without love. THERE ISN’T ONE.

So what is love?

Here is the definition from wikipedia: “Love is an emotion of strong affection and personal attachment.”

If love is about strong affection and personal attachment, then why do we feel so? BECAUSE WE’RE HUMAN. Of course there are other beings in the world that feel love, but none as strong as humans.

There are 2 types of love: Impersonal Love, and Interpersonal Love.

Impersonal Love: Impersonal Love is one’s love towards, an object, a goal, or an idea. Say me. I would like to make at least $1000 a month on-line.

Interpersonal Love: Interpersonal Love is love towards another individual aka crush, like, a relationship, marriage, etc.

To me personally, I believe love happens because we as individuals don’t have what we love in ourselves. Why do you love another person? It happens because that specific person feels unique to you, and you believe (subconsciously) that that person is unique and has qualities that you might not have. Of course, everyone has a list of criteria of what attracts them, but this is actually a lower-level part of your brain that is actually in power of who you actually love.

Your subconscious is actually the one who controls everything above YOUR thinking. Almost like another entity within yourself. So if your friend asks you what you like in your opposite sex, and say you say that you like blonds. You really do not have much control over your subconscious. You can like a brunette tomorrow.

Love is also the source where other emotions come from. Passion, Drive, Courage, Fear, Obsession, etc. Love is the scale that keeps the balance in this world. We live and breathe because we feel love. The world works the way it is because of love.

Love is the greatest gift to all of us.
