Book review of Native Water by Signe Pike.
Native Water by Signe Pike is a beautiful book of poetry that explores and expresses water and elements of water in a unique way that’s not too literal in context. The poet knows how to turn a poetic phrase with ease, as if you’ve never heard that combination of words before, but it seems oddly familiar.
Overall, the poetry is methodical and not too dark, but just enough that you empathize with the sadder poems and read the others with a better understanding of the situation described. I would recommend this poetry book to anyone that loves to read poetry, especially those that love to read by a fireplace on a chilling, gray afternoon.
