We’re all aware of what’s hot on Triond, as displayed on our Triond dashboard daily; Hot Content, Hot Tags and Hot Users. While many have never seen their name on these prestigious lists, there are others who seem to possess permanent reign there. Since Triond is a writing community, I thought it would be nice, as a writer, to share my personal list of hot writers and what makes them hot.
As a relatively new writer to the Triond community, I can’t help but feel somewhat intimidated by the enormous talent of some of the names on the hot lists. I feel fortunate that many have allowed me into their circle of friends and hope to learn from their styles and techniques. I believe they should be listed as required reading for those just joining the Triond community. However, I’d like to pay tribute to some writers whose names may not be so familiar. Each of these individuals provides me with true inspiration!
Bick Parker first came to my attention with his deeply moving poem God’s Tears, but revealed his lighter, more humorous side in his article Women Deserve Respect. Clearly demonstrating his versatility, Bick captures the imagination of young and old alike in his two part children’s fantasy story Pilf the Imaginer-Part One and Pilf the Imaginer-Part Two. Bick’s list of contributions to Triond vary greatly in topic. His articles can be found in Gomestic, AuthSpot, Writinghood, PurpleSlinky and HealthMad, just to name a few. This serves as a testament to the versatility of his work. My personal favorite is Her Name is Aura. It is in this beautifully written article that we are allowed to experience the deep spiritual side to Bick’s writing. I doubt anyone could read this masterpiece and not feel deeply moved.
Like myself, Denise Kawaii is new to Triond. At the time of this writing, Denise has only published three articles. But clearly, Denise believes in quality, not quantity. Seven New Years Resolutions You Should Keep is much more than a holiday piece. It clearly demonstrates Denise’s writing ability and great attitude towards life. But for LOL humor, you’ve got to read A Winter Wonderland, or is It? Denise obviously knows that laughter is the best medicine, and that love and laughter go hand in hand.
Denus is one of the most prolific newbies out there. His enthusiasm for life is clearly demonstrated in his many poems, photos, articles and forum posts. Denus may be new to Triond but I don’t think it will be long before we see his name on the hot lists. Crimson Skies is one of my favorite poems by Denus. But if you’re new to Triond, How to Put Links to Your Articles is a must read. But in order to see all of Denus’ contributions, you really must visit his profile. While you’re there, check out his montage of photos. Denus’ enthusiasm is contagious.
While the list of Erin Cree’s articles is short, her contributions are priceless. She offers some sage advice on marraige in Can There be a Happily Ever After and Another Thing About Happily Ever After. On the other hand, she’s got a great sense of humor, as you’ll see if you read The Tale of the Embarrassing Medical Examination, or my personal favorite A Grumpy Old Womans Guide to How to Use Your Dongle. (By the way, what is a dongle again?)
There are so many authors I’d like to name, but no one will read this if I list them all. On the other hand, let me mention some names of profiles you might like to visit. Some of these writers are new and looking for some friends and exposure, while others have brilliant profiles that show true promise.
This list is in no way meant to discount the work of those authors on the hot lists. Most of them are there after proving themselves through their time tested contributions. I have read the articles of authors such as BC Doan and Glynnis Smy and others that have made the list. I hope all new members take the time to do so as well. Then you’ll understand why the greats are great.
As a member of Triond, you belong to a community of friends. If you’re new here, I’d recommend you visit the newly implemented Triond forum. You’ll find it very friendly and supportive there. If you’re shy, read an article by one of the author’s I’ve named above and leave a comment. You’ll be making new friends in no time. To have friends, you must be a friend.

Humbled and honoured. You are correct in saying that to attain friends, you need to be a friend. Like yourself, I too always look for newbies to Triond, and leave them encouraging words so they know that their writings don’t go unnoticed. I believe a lot of inspiration can be gleaned from reading new work by new writers.
If Triond would ever consider awarding certificates of merit, I believe the first one should rightfully be given to you.
Being mentioned in this article is highly appreciated. Thank you.

I believe like so many others, that reading the content of the hot writers assists in our writing.
I have found many including yourself who have assisted me in my own efforts. Thank you

Joni,
This was totally hot and selfless. How awesome! This is what Triond is all about.
January 13th, 2009 at 2:40 am
Yes, I agree. To gain friends, we should be a friend first. This is really a very nice gesture. Great work.

It’s wonderful to see people honor other writers. That, to me, has more merit than the Dashboard Hot List.
Glynis Smy, BC Doan and Lauren Axlerod have all done this as well…and I have another one coming soon.
Great article and thanks for the list of writers to go check out!

It’s always nice when you see others enjoying something when you put part of your very soul out there for others to take a look at.

Thank you so much for mentioning me in your article. I having a flushy, overwhelmed moment here! But all credit really should go to you on your writing ability. Having read most of the works of the other authors you mentioned, you have encapsulated the essence if their work to perfection. Well done Joni
