The beta stage of HubPage’s invite only Ad program is over. Now everyone can apply and receive extra money from published hubs.
In on of my previous articles, I compared Triond versus Hubpages. One of the pros of using Triond over HubPages was the additional ads program on Triond that allowed extra income from article views, transferred to PayPal account or paid by check or Western Union. Narrowing the gap of features between HubPages and Triond, I received the weekly e-mail from HubPages with the top news that All Hubbers are Now Eligible for the HubPages Ad Program. There is a detailed thumbnail of the difference between the layout for the Google AdSense only pages and the mixed pages with Google AdSense and HubPages Ad programs. The requirements for qualification to HubPages ad program are working Google AdSense and PayPal accounts. I decided to give a test of the new ad program and signed up in less than ten minutes. All I needed to do was to give answers to three security questions, provide my tax information and login to my PayPal account.

The HubPages ad program is very similar to the ad program of Triond, where the earnings are also updated with delay. The difference is in the payment threshold for people with PayPal account. While on Triond, the threshold is as little as 0.50$ for payment by PayPal, the HubPages payment threshold is one hundred times more or $50. This is very hard to earn amount by novice hubbers and most of them will probably give up soon. Triond still have the charm over HubPages of sending small amounts of residual income each month even for not very active publishers. HubPages also uses only PayPal, meaning that people without working PayPal account can not qualify, while Triond offers the alternatives of Western Union and Checks. On the other hand the payment threshold for WU and Checks on Triond is the same as on HubPages being $50. The new ad program is additional opportunity for people who are active on Hubpages. The new advertising program on HubPages can not be selected if there is no need for it. I selected it for testing purposes in the next few weeks.

makes no sense to give your tax info if yo need to make $50. US Tax law says you need not give your tax info unless you make > than $600USD in one year.
