How to Write an Effective Article to Draw More Readers

How to make sure you are making the most out of your article.

Article writers who offer information need to capture the reader’s interest quickly.  By immediately grabbing their interest you are more likely to keep them from moving on before they reach the bottom of the page.   Searchers are after one thing-information and if they can’t readily find it they will carry on to another article.  The first paragraph should give the reader a good idea of who, what, where, and why, to keep them reading.  In other words give them enough information up front to hold their interest and chances are they will continue to read on.

Because searchers find articles using search engines, keywords are essential.  Keywords should be used as often as possible throughout your content including headlines and subheadings. Then when submitting your article to search engine directories, social bookmarking sites, and article directories, they have a better chance of being picked up by browsers.

People notice graphics right away.  By choosing appropriate pictures it can help give your article more impact.  Where a picture is worth a thousand words, a strategically placed picture can play an important part in holding the reader’s attention and selling your article.

When searchers are looking for specific information they tend to skip through large paragraphs.  By excluding unnecessary adjectives, redundant wording, and flowery descriptions you can keep paragraphs short and to the point.

And finally let your title be the drawing point to your article.   By letting the title indicate what your article is about, you will have a better chance of being found and read.  By using keywords and key phrases in your title it will help draw readers to your article.
