If a picture is worth a thousand words, a movie can speak volumes. Enhance your Triond articles using the Online Editor to insert videos.
A great way to enhance the readability of your Triond articles is to include a video into your article body. While this sounds like a great idea, many writers are stumped as to just how to go about inserting a video or two into a Triond article and having it play for readers.
How to Insert Videos into Your Triond Articles
A video can be an effective teaching tool, making a lasting impression on your readers by adding sound, color, and interest to your article.
Determine where you want to place your video. This will be determined by your text. Insert your cursor there.
Look up top to the second line of icons. On the line where you see the blue arrow, look over to the right to the second icon on the end. You’ll see what looks like a strip of film.
Shrink down your article so it sits on the task bar.
Go to YouTube and type in a query in the Search box to locate a movie you would like to use.
When you see a movie you think would be suitable, click on it so that it plays, so that you can preview it.
Copy the URL (look to the right of the movie, where you’ll see a grey rectangular box). You’ll see URL and a line and Embed and a line. Click or run your mouse over the line of text, right click, then press Copy.
Go back to the film icon and click on that.
A box will direct you to paste in the movie URL. Do so and hit “Embed Video.”
A line of text will appear where you placed your cursor.
Continue with your article.
Check to see that all is working as it should by clicking on the last icon on the second line (the icon with the magnifying glass). Your article will appear in a preview box, along with your video.
Your movie should appear just as the one you see below.
This is very helpful information for those who want to use videos. I might do it myself if I ever write anything that I could use a video with. You take care, Ruby
Hi Brian,
That wasn’t my video; it was a video from a Triond writer.
Hi Ruby, I believe that there are other sites out there that permit you to use videos. I’m currently only signed up to YouTube but I know over at HubPages, there are other videos mentioned that can be used.
Hi Ken,
That was a video about Triond that I embeded. I’m not sure what you mean about Triond videos. You could make your own video on YouTube about writing for Triond or about powerlifting and then include it in your articles, following the same process.
You would have to create a user account at YouTube, I would think, but that’s no biggy.
I’ve uploaded a few videos to Triond that support articles I’ve written – they’re not on YouTube. Would be nice if I could embed these videos as you’ve done with the YouTube video.
Hi Ken,
There are a couple of ways to add videos: one you add the URL; two, you copy the embed code. This is usually longer but if you want to put a video anywhere in an article, this usually works. I do this when I want to include a video at one of my blogs.
If you aren’t sure where to locate the longer embed code, simply right-click and hit properties and it should come up.
Hi Athlyn,
I surely am glad I found you and spotted this article. I believe it will help me in the future. I love your name by the way. One of my Granddaughters is named Ashlyn–close to the same as yours.

Hey, Dancing Queen! Nice song, cute video you made! It would be nice if we didn’t have to use YouTube as the only means to submit videos by.

Thank you, Athlyn. This is very useful information.
