Many of you who have written for TRIOND may wonder “How do I get into the Hot Content?” or “How do I become a Hot member?” Well, just like you, I have given these questions some thought too, but I still couldn’t find out the “criteria” used to get into the hot list. However, I did come across certain things, and I think they might help.
Many of you may think that to get into the hot content, you must have a well written article with good pictures and explanations. However, one of the things I discovered was that this belief is completely FALSE. Yes, I know it sounds odd, but a well-written article does not get you into the hot content. I have seen and read many articles in the hot content with poor spellings and grammar mistakes, yet many well-researched and well-written articles are no where in the hot content. So theory 1, Well-written article, is FALSE.
Another misconception is that the articles that get the most views usually end up in the hot content. This is also FALSE, because some of my articles which got about 100 views were not included in the hot content, and I do not think 100 views in an hour is a small number…
Most likes and comments, yet another FALSE theory. The articles which end up in the hot content get likes and comments AFTER they are published in the hot content, because they are projected more, i.e. they are on the front page, and a lot more people would read the articles on the first page before going to search for others. So, once more, this is a FALSE theory.
Now those were the three things I came across, but since all of them are FALSE, they do not help much. Or do they? Now that you know these 3 things, you should try to combine them, choose a topic worth reading and then elaborate it, explain it as much as you can, and try using good pictures to go with the text.
But then again, does getting into the hot content really matter? I mean, I got 100 views in one hour without being on the hot content, didn’t I? So, to me, getting to the hot content is just not as important as it was before. I’m getting a fairly good amount from TRIOND, without the hot content. So if you don’t get into the hot content, don’t worry, you can do just as good without it. Trust me.

Interesting….It’s getting the page noticed that counts.
Wonder if there are certain topics that are more often in the Hot Topic section.
