How to Add Photos to Your Triond Articles

If you’ve gotten started writing articles for Triond, the next thing you’ll be looking at is inclusion of photos in your Triond articles.

Now, while it takes more effort to add photos to your Triond articles, it pays off over the long term.

Why Pictures?

  • Pictures help to illustrate points you cover in your articles.
  • Pictures add to the visual appeal of an article–pictures are the “icing,” your article is the “cake.”
  • Articles that contain pictures are often remembered and revisited.

I always remember an article about lavender that Triond writer, Emma-O created. The article is an outstanding example of how pictures can enrich and inform an article, making it a far more enjoyable read. The writer chose such appealing pictures coupled with good information that I returned to the article repeatedly and finally linked to it at one of my blogs.

Let’s face it, looking at line after line of text is not exactly scintillating. Even if the content manages to be gripping, pictures fire the imagination by engaging more of the senses.

How to Add Pictures to Your Triond Articles

Okay, you’ve written your article–but now comes the hard part: how to add pictures to your Triond articles.

  1. Insert your cursor where you want your first picture to appear.
  2. Go to a free photo site such as morguefile.
  3. To grab the photo URL, click on the selected picture to open it, right-click on the picture, find “properties” and click on that; when the box opens, highlight the URL by left-clicking and running your mouse over it, right-click and press copy.
  4. Now, look at the top part of the Online Editor, second row. You’ll see what looks like a TV screen (7th icon over). If you run your mouse over it, it will say “Insert Image.”
  5. Click on it.
  6. A box will open directing you to paste a picture URL from your computer or from the Web. For the sake of this article, we will be pasting a picture from the Web.
  7. Right-click and press paste, where it directs you to include the URL. The URL should appear.
  8. Press on the box entitled “Insert Image.”

Your image should appear. Now, it may seem too big. That is easily fixed. Simply click on it and re-size it.

Photo How-to’s

  • In the Triond Help Center, under Submissions, additional information is provided about embedding photos in Triond articles.
  • Resources are given for sites where you can obtain free photos.

This is only one method for adding photos to your Triond articles. For the sake of simplicity, I’ve outlined one easy approach.

With a little trial and error, you can add photos to your Triond articles!

    Hi Ken,

Someone wrote and asked me how to add photos so I thought I would write an article about it.

I invite everyone to share their tips–or maybe write an article detailing additional ways of adding photos. We can all learn from each other.

Any suggestions on sizing options? I simply click on the picture to make it smaller but, if memory serves, isn’t there an actual suggested size?

If you’ve added photos to Picable, they should show in your profile. This is what I experienced.

Thanks, I’ve tried before and failed. I can post pics in the ‘post pics’ section, but they get bounced out of my articles… I’ll try your method.
    Thanks,

How come when I try to post with pictures there is no place to give my source, but the site won’t publish without it?

    Thanks for the feedback.

Army raises a good point: each time any of us come across an article we feel is good quality, we all need to remeber to take the time to give it a “Liked it” and to bookmark it at a couple of sites.

Try to aim for a ration of 3-1: bookmark three article for every one of your own that you share. That way, you aren’t viewed as a spammer and may gain more fans because people will see that you share interesting and good quality articles.

I’ve had this happen repeatedly: people add me because they like what I’m sharing at the sites.

    Hi Brinna,
Glad you found this information helpful. I’m posting in your comment but had to remove your link.

Thanks. I submitted a restaurant review with my own images a while back, but the system ate it somehow. It didn’t even show up as a rejected article, which I found very strange. I just rewrote the article using your tips and the article posted just fine. So, thanks a bunch! I’m definitely putting you on my writers to watch list.
