How I Grew in 2008

I have always loved to write but never thought I was good enough.

I guess you could say I learned a lot in the year 2008.  That was when I began writing, blogging and whatever else online.  it all started when I tried to set up an online gift store.  That was a complete failure and closed within six months, but while looking ofr ways to get traffic and advertise I found Blogger and Ezine Articles.  That got me started.

I set up a couple of Blogs, why not? They were free.  I found that I could put Adsense on them and maybe make a little money.  I don’t work outside the home so I figured it would give me something to do.  Ezine Articles let me set up a free account too and I could publish articles on various subjects linking back to my store and/or blogs. I learned a lot about copying and pasting, Widgets, HTML, etc.  Then one day it happened.  I typed Blogger into my search box and when it brought me to the results page, I glanced over at the listings on the right, you know, the sponsored results or whatever they call those. And there it was, Triond.  Looks interesting I thought, so I clicked on it.  Okay, now it really looks interesting so I signed up.  In fact, I don’t think I ever got to Blogger that day!

Since that fateful day, I have met some wonderful people through their writings and their support of myself and others.  When I first started writing here I thought that I couldn’t compare to what these talented people were doing. I still have my doubts and I know that I am far from being the best writer around.  I can look back at my previous writings and compare them to my newer work and I can see how much I have learned.  In fact, one of the stroies that I started here I am now trying to write out as a book outside of Triond.  I never would have been able to do this if it wasn’t for the amazing support of my fellow writers.  The story I mention is The New Queen.  I have published four parts to it here and I seem to have developed a bit of a following.

I guess what I am trying to say here is THANK YOU, TRIOND FRIENDS!  Thank you to Triond for finding my work worthy of publishing as well.  I have been busy over the last several weeks so I haven’t been reading and commenting on everyone’s amazing work and I am sorry for that.  I will try to catch up and stay on top of things now but if you don’t here from me it doesn’t mean I have forgotten you, I am just trying to write my book.  I still plan to write and visit here as often as I can, after all, if it weren’t for the wonderful people here I wouldn’t have grown as much as I have.  From time to time , I will post another part of the story just to get some feedback from you if you don’t mind.  I have already added another two chapters and so far it seems to be going well.

I want to wish everyone here Best Wishes for the New Year and I look forward to reading more from all of you and offering my support to everyone in 2009.  I have gotten a little behind on my blog as well and I will get back on track with that as well.  I would like to invite anyone who would like to have their creative works published on my blog Creativity In Writing at http://creativity-in-writing.blogspot.com  to send me a message!  Everything I post is with permission and links back to both the original story as well as the author’s Triond profile.  This is just my way of trying to help my Triond friends get more views and to share the work of the many talented writers I have met since I joined.  Until next time, please enjoy some my favorite writings!
