This is more of a question than an instructional article, so don’t expect me to tell you how to make money.
This is the question I’d like to ask everyone. I’d rather do it on a more personal manner but since we can’t actually send messages to multiple users simultaneously then perhaps I’d just open it up as a sort of a forum discussion.
So How do we make money here on this site? I mean besides the obvious answer of getting our posts viewed. I saw some members even going to the extent of begging others to view their stuff on forums. I thought that was pathetic but they seem to get the moolah at the end of the day so maybe I should do that! Hehehehe! No way! (Not yet)! hmn…..? Ok… I beseech thee! Read my articles… view my artworks! I’m down on my knees!!! There. I thought I’d say it in a more classical tone!
I am more concerned with how triond calculates the amount payable to each page view. I just noticed recently as I was checking my older posts that the number of hits don’t necessarily correspond to the amount payable to a particular post. As an example I received $0.05 on a picture with a humble viewership of 19 while a more visited post took more than 40 hits and only got $0.03. What do you think about this?
I have a few theories. I wonder if they make sense:
Repeated views don’t count- Every triond member knows that a view from a particular ip address can only count once every 24 hours. It won’t count as a view on the triond counter anyway. The question is: would a view from the same address after 25 hours amount to any cash?
Clicking ads when Viewing a post- You notice that when you view a particular article there are several inserted ads that are clickable. Could it be that an article gets more revenue when somebody clicks on an ad that triond had pasted on his article? Every blogger knows about the revenue in advertising so I thought this theory could be true as far as our triond posts are concerned.
Some special viewers- Aliens, superheroes, Gods! Extraordinary beings took time to read or view your post so you deserve to be paid higher! You know what I mean?
I hope you have better answers. I’d still be posting artworks and articles for the love of them but if there’s anything special out there we all deserve to know, right?

Just keep publishing.

As Joe had stated, keep on creating good articles and prays that more people will view your work.. This may sound odd to some but to a Christian like me i live by what the the Scriptures say, ” do your best and god will take care of the rest” and one more ” It is better to give than to receive” . Just give viewers joy and satisfaction and believe God will reward you,

God will not reward you – that is taking too passive a role. You must help yourself!
Persevere, be tenacious, write well, make friends, network.

Beats me. I have the same questions myself.. I’m awaiting the answers.
January 24th, 2009 at 7:49 pm
Thank you for the comments. I expected answers just like Joe’s and Papaleng’s but I feel like my title might have been a little deceptive because it’s not exactly the topic to which my article is pertaining to.
For that I greatly apologize!
And since Im a bit disorganized, my real topic starts at paragraph 3. You see if you focus on the title you’d know that it had been discussed so many times in the past and no less by the most respected triond users. I can find every possible answer to that question from their articles that it would shame me to even ask!

It is extremely important to market yourself and become socially involved with the online community. If you are still learning, I suggest navigating through SU and Digg. I receive at least 1000 extra views just by networking there. So you see, it counts to make friends and follow them as well.

This is a great article, very well written
and you bring up some very good questions
That I wonder about as well.
Great things to ponder on.

It depends on the ad there is on while your articles are being read.I hope you understand me.

The highest earning sites are webupon and healthmad @ $1.80 to $2 per 1,000 views. I tried Kleep (video) but only earned me 0.01 for 29 views. Eeeekk!
January 30th, 2009 at 5:35 pm
Hmnn—well? You explained it in a way, which what seems to be ur usual observation…!!! However, only Triond management can answer it specifically!
Good post! KEEP IT COMIN’

yep, repeated clicks after 24 hrs will earn you another view and 0.005cents.. but as RJ mentioned, perseverance is the key plus making friends plus your SEO plus viewing other`s works plus publish, publish, publish…

I haven’t understand your opinion yet. Sorry. I think we must wait and wait visitors come to our sites.

Good question that needs to be answer by Triond.

It really not a plea for money so to speak, but a want for someone comment about your work as well. I love writing and enjoy reading other peoples articles. I learn as I read. Thanks for opening this door.
