If you have decided that the data entry jobs, also known as home based typing positions, are right for you let me paint a clear picture for you.  Entering the data entry world is not simple.  You will need an excellent resume and cover letter in order to apply for these jobs.  If you think you will just be typing away and watching television, you are very wrong.  Data entry requires a quick typing speed with very little room for errors.  You will also be doing proofreading while you are typing at fast speeds, which requires extreme concentration.

Data entry jobs are at the top of every new work-at-home person’s list of careers to apply for.  But, without careful consideration of the time you are going to spend on this type of work, not to mention the waiting lists you will be placed on to even get interviewed for this job, you will most likely be disappointed in even spending time searching for this position.  Make sure you know what you are getting into before deciding to apply for this career.  My sister for example, applied to a job in this career field about three years ago and has just heard back from the employer.  They offered her a position for very little money and it was very disappointing. 

Without dedication to this career field, your time would be wasted in looking at data entry positions.  You would have to have about an eight hour time slot to complete the necessary amount of work to be done in a day.  This is not to discourage those that are dedicated to this career choice, only to be wary of applying to these positions lightly.  Make sure that you think this through and are dedicated to typing and to yourself before thinking of entering this career field.
