I’ve heard mixed reviews of the Google AdSense and Triond integration. Some Triond writers are pleased; others are not happy at all. With some trepidation, I integrated AdSense with my Triond account today, and now I’m anxious to find out if this will be a lucrative move. If you’ve signed up, what has your experience been like so far?
I first learned of the Google AdSense and Triond integration on the Triond Forum last week. A number of Trionders were discussing the issue, but only one had actually received the invitation to integrate his AdSense account with his Triond account.
This actually brings up the first little peeve I have with this integration. People on the forum were very upset because no one knew what was going on with the AdSense/Triond integration. Some people expressed frustration that only a few writers had been given the option to integrate AdSense with Triond.
After doing some searching, I discovered that the integration was being rolled out to a few Trionders at a time. I feel Triond should have been upfront with all of us about this prior to starting this rollout. An email about the new program that explained that a few writers at a time were being invited to integrate in order to make sure there were no issues would have been nice. Being up front and transparent about changes is the best policy.
The other issue is that no one seems to know exactly how the integration of AdSense with Triond is actually going to work. The details from Triond have been sketchy and have left a lot of questions in my mind. For example, will AdSense ads replace some of the Yahoo! ads? If so, might integrating our AdSense account cause our earnings to go down? There’s a rumor going around that integrating is a good deal for the high earners on Triond but not a good deal for the low earners. I’m wondering if this is because Triond is not paying as much now on straight hits but is now paying more based on ad clicks. This is just a theory that my overactive brain is pondering. I have yet to see what the integration is going to do to my own earnings.
I anticipate that one of the biggest issues with AdSense is going to be the ultra-high payout threshold. You must earn $100 to receive payment from Google. Since it takes many of us half a year to a year (or maybe even longer!) to reach that amount on our Triond articles, this could be a big issue.
I do have some hope that the AdSense/Triond integration could be beneficial. I’ve got my fingers (and toes) crossed, at least! I’m wondering if AdSense could make Triond more lucrative for writers. AdSense ads are specifically targeted to the content of an article, so there might be a higher likelihood that readers will click on the ads.
As a side note, I just started writing for Suite101. That site bases earnings exclusively on ad clicks. In other words, writers are not paid anything for page views, like here on Triond. This might sound like a bummer deal, but my earnings are actually higher on Suite101 than on Triond. I wonder if writers will need to start worrying about the CPC (cost per click) of keywords used in articles. Keywords determine which ads are displayed with articles. CPC is the amount that advertisers pay each time a reader clicks on an ad. CPC varies wildly based on the competition between advertisers.
I’m sure we’ll eventually get all of our questions about the AdSense/Triond integration answered, but for now all of the in’s and out’s of the integration remain a mystery.

I haven’t set it up yet, but I’m already using googleads on my blog, and will be using them on hubpages shortly, too. You have a far better chance of reaching the pay-out level if you use it everywhere you are able. Suite 101 doesn’t seem comparable to Triond, IMO (every article I read there was helpful and perfectly written!). Sorry I can’t be of more help…

There are other sites working with a split revenue from Google Adsense clicks and there are countless Bloggers earning good money with Google Adsense. I\’ve been on Hubpages for more than a year now, and earning there from ad clicks and affiliate sales (Amazon, Ebay) – but I was earning more with the page views system here on Triond.
For me, that\’s the main point: Triond offers something MORE now, so I don\’t understand why people are so upset about this. The Adsense earnings are ADDITIONAL and content related. I don\’t get why this should influence your earnings in a negative manner, even if other ads should disappear.
You\’ll get the best of both world now: page views earnings earnings based on ad clicks. And okay, Google Adsense has a huge payout treshold… but hey, Adsense Payday will really make your day, then… right?
And rumors… well, they usually just are what they are: rumors.

Update after one day: I’ve made $0.01 with AdSense after 222 page impressions. Guess people aren’t clicking on the ads. Hopefully things will pick up. Thank you all for sharing your perspectives.

Thanks for sharing this information. Not being a regular on the forum, this is the first I have heard about Adsense and Triond. The big question is, will the Adsense earnings be an additional revenue stream or will they replace page views. If they are additional then this could be good news.

Good article to share.

For the past couple of days, I have been trying the link to your article: adsense and triond integration, but couldn’t. I would like to record my experience: I have an adsense a/c, but no money. Bu now, I see money trickling in, with no extra effort. Thank Triond for this. —Uma Shankari
If you can open the said article, you may cut paste the above comments.

If I’d use Adsense, would increase my earnings well?

I integrated with google adsense and so far I’ve made 3 cents from Triond, lol. But, still, for a couple of seconds spent to put Triond on your account, in the long run it’ll be worth it.

In the Triond News on the Dashboard, there’s a notice about the integration dated Nov. 2. It looks like Google ads will replace some of the Yahoo! ads. Triond says that our Triond earnings could be lower, but the AdSense ad revenue should compensate.

For the time being I’ll just wait until most of the bugs are worked out of the system. There is no sense in all this speculation. It’s like an arguement over a football game before the two teams play. Just wait for the game. There is no need to speculate. It’s a waste of time.

Of course the number of comments and clicks you’re getting is never a waste of time.

I don’t know… a $100 payout minimum seems like an outrageous amount, and I really don’t want to get away from being paid per page view. Once we’re not paid per view anymore, the amount we make is no longer in our hands.
I look at my job as bringing in readers. If I fulfill my end of the bargain, I should get paid. If someone’s ad is on my article but not designed well enough to get clicks, that isn’t my problem. Paying per click is like someone trying to advertise on TV and only paying the network based upon how many products they sell.
I’m fine with adsense as long as it remains a take it or leave it option. However, I worry about this being a trial, with the plan being shoved down everyone else’s throats in future.

I received an email about from Triond about the integration last weekend, and decided to hop in last Sunday or Monday, I guess. So far, I have made 18 cents from adsense.
I believe Patrick Bernauw has a point. At least, that’s how Triond explains it. Since we’re getting much from page views here, if those views keep up, there should be no reason that our earnings here would decrease, unless Triond lowers the page view rate which, they said they wouldn’t do.
Thanks for this post.

Good article! yeah I just got wind of this Google integration just recently. I do want to integrate, but I don’t even have a google account yet.

I am very happy with the adsense intergration thing, I use adsense on xomba, my blogs and on hubpages and I think the more places you use it the better chance you will have of reaching your payout. So far the best place I have found for using adsense has been xomba. Good luck with it guys, so far I have earned about 20 cents on google and i intergrated it the other day, it is not much but at least I am earning.

Ok now I am reading some other stuff and I am not impressed I really dont want to see my page view earnings lower just because of adsense, as much as I have earned a little bit from the adsense this week I would rather get paid from page views really because, more the readers that come in the more money regardless of whether they click on an ad or not. I am happy for adsense to remain if it is just a case of doubling up with adverts and page view earnings.

People we have nothing to lose. I easily make the payout for adsense every month. You just need to treat this as a business and always learn about how you can improve it. Just don’t give up and sooner or later you will make money with adsense.

thanks a lot for information

Nice article about AdSense integration. Trionders really have different opinions about ‘em.

I have just implemented Google ad sense. Don’t see like I have anything to loose really. I am not at Triond for the short Haul so if it takes me till $100 dollars to get my pennies then so be it. BTW – four days later and still no clicks.
December 8th, 2009 at 4:23 am
Well, Triond has stated that our daily earnings will be naturally lower if we put adsense on our articles. I opt not to do it. I have adsense account, but I don’t think it worths it in the long run. 100 bucks payout seems impossible to reach.

i am quite please about my adsense integration…i am making at least a cent or a dollar per day.

I’m not really fond of the other article writing sites because I prefer the freedom of writing about what I want. However since my fiction hasn’t done well here on Triond, I am submitting those to actual online magazines.

Very useful and attractive article for all Trionders as it is the general feeling that Triond integrating with adsense is a very wise decision. It will help all of us in the long run, as Adsense is very reputed.
