This is the main reason why the writing of flash fiction is so popular.
“Mr. Hogan, let me congratulate you on the flash fiction story ‘Girls Loving Girls’. It’s hot.”
“Thank you, Hallelujah.”
“Are your themes moving more toward lesbianism?”
“Let’s just say sexuality.”
“Okay, what about flash fiction being the child of the Internet?”
“Readers now, especially readers who get their fiction online, want it short and sweet. No muss and no fuss. I’m glad people are still reading short stories no matter how short they are. That’s a good thing.”
“So if I understand what you’re saying, the computer generation may still be reading fiction but they don’t want to spend a lot of time on it.”
“You’re part of the computer generation. You grew up with computers. Right?”
“I played my first computer game when I was four years old.”
“Your generation still wants to read fiction but it’s got to be concise. Immediate. It’s got to have an immediate payoff.”
“Sir, ’Girls Loving Girls’ is the perfect example.”

short, focused, fiction blurbs; like a “flash” light’s beam of light
roaming and revealing things in a dark room, love it!

Thank you, Joey:
After all these years of writing I can now figure out what a significant event is. A flash fiction story is a significant event with closure.
