Out of the thousands of writers here at Triond that are literally hundreds of good writers, here are a few whose work I think deserves some recognition.
Recently I had a comment on one of articles, that basically stated that viewing other writer’s works would not necessarily make an exceptional writer stand out. That comment got me to thinking. Triond with its huge number of writers probably has thousands of good, if not exceptional writers whose work could prove to be an inspiration to those who are just starting out as well as to those of us who would like to improve our own writing skills.
However, Triond has no rating system that would help these writers stand out. Finding these good writers is more a matter of luck than anything else. Now, I will be the first to admit that my judgment as to what constitutes good writing is no better than anyone else’s. That being said, I decided to do a series of articles on Triond Writers whose work I think is well worth viewing.
For those who are interested, take a look, and decide for yourself if these writers and their works stand out as good examples of fine writing.
Brenda Nelson
Brenda does many animal articles, as well as articles in many other fields. She is not what I would call a flamboyant writer. Her style is most often simple, straightforward and easy to understand. Her articles are well thought out and extremely well written. Clear and concise.
For those of you who have struggled with article writing, you will know how difficult it is to write a well thought out and concise article. Brenda makes it look easy and for that reason I would recommend that anyone who wants to improve the style of their articles read some of her work.
Steve Newman
Steve writes a lot of history related articles and stories about the London theatre. He has a wonderful sense of how to make any story come alive so the reader actually feels as though he is witnessing the events Steve writes about.
He has a unique way of expressing ideas that catches the readers imagination and focuses them in on his topic.
Whether you are an article writer or a story teller, you will find something new you can learn from reading this man’s works.
Uma Shankari
I just recently discovered Uma’s writing and I can honestly say that I am glad I did. Whether she is writing an article about the abuse of women or telling a story her writing style will grip the reader and keep them fascinated.
Her writing is absolutely compelling! It is the type of writing that we all can appreciate.
Vorvisurfan
Vorvisurfan is someone I would classify as an up and coming heavy weight. Her poetry is rich with emotion and imagery and both are wonderfully expressed.
In the last few weeks Vorisurfan has worked long and hard and improving her English skills and it shows! Her works have become more and more easy to read while losing none of the richness that first caught my attention.
Bo Jacks
For those who have viewed some of Bo’s work you may be wondering why I included him on this particular list.
While I don’t know Bo at all, I have read much of his witticisms in the forums, which made me curious enough to view his work. The first several works I viewed left me feeling somewhat disappointed and I almost dismissed his work entirely. Then I came across a poem he had written for his friend Bruce (Duff).
In this particular work Bo manages to convey both a sense of the bond he shares with his friend and his outlandish humor. This makes this poem both lighthearted and touching at one and the same time. A feat few of us could ever hope to manage.
I have the feeling if Bo put his efforts into some really serious poetry he would surprise everyone with his talent.
These people, are just a few of the writers here at Triond who stand out. Their works are as varied as their personalities and I would recommend that you read some of their works. You will find some interesting reading material and just might discover that you can learn something from these talented individuals.
DISCLAIMER: For those of you who know one of these authors I want to make clear that I have never communicated with him in any way and no money has exchanged hands. What I said about his work stands and I was in no way coerced into these statements.

I recommend including links to the authors pages in your article to make it easier to find them. Otherwise everyone is going to have to cut and paste them into a search box to find their work.

You should’ve included yourself for kicks and giggles.

as drake said, including links to their profile would be a great addition. other than that, description for each author was great!

I would have included links but I can’t seem to get the hang of how to link any thing to my articles.

Some good choices! I haven’t heard of a couple but some of the choices here are really good indeed. Drake did give some nice advice too.

Even though,I have never read any of those people’s work. You picked people of different styles of writing. I like your article its informative and truthful!

You are right – it’s very easy to miss some very good work here. The trouble with having a ratings system would be that you would have friends promoting the same friends’ work continuously, so that people with not many friends would get overlooked.

I know Brenda’s work well and I agree with you. Bo can write well when he wants to and he has a great talent. Ruby Hawk is another great writer with very timely articles and great insights into history. Ken Bultman has a talent for humor and lovely poems, he can always make me laugh. As for me I love to write about animals and the paranormal or take an event in my life and make a story out of it. We all have our different talents.

Thanks, Martie, for including me. I agree with you about the others too. There are some great writers on Triond – not least yourself.

Martie, I wish to say thank you, I sometimes just use filler space to keep my name fresh, I’m pleasantly suprised to have heard about this from a Triond friend at Facebook. Humorous reaction is a very small part of what I do, I want to again say thanks for noticing, you might enjoy my blog; might not but I’m only a goofball when I need to to save my mind from myself.
The forum is my comedy releif, hope I don’t lose points for that!

Uma Shankari is one of my favourite Triond writers, but I would add Judy Sheldon-Walker and RJ Evans to the list.
