While most of us enjoy writing about many things, not all of us consider ourselves expert on any topic. How then do you choose your expert fields when filling out the Factoidz registration.
About a week ago I wrote an article about a new writing site I discovered called Factoidz. Now that I have been on it for a short period of time, I have learned a little more about the site, and find I really enjoy writing articles for it.
For those of you who have not joined the site but might be considering on doing so in the future, I thought I would offer a bit of advice.
When filling out the information to join the site you are required to list topics you feel you are an expert in. I must say, that this request threw me somewhat during the intital process. While I like to think of myself as well read and somewhat well rounded, I have never considered myself an expert in any field.
Still, I did the best I could and muddled through, For the first few days I was worried about the expert thing, as I was not sure I wanted anyone to consider me an expert and take my word as gospel on any subject. I felt that my opinions were exactly that, opinions. These opinions were no more or less valuable than anyone elses.
However, after a few days I began to relax as I began to understand how the site worked and what the term expert really means on Factoidz. I also thought understand how the expert status works on this site might make it easier for new people wanting to join the site to know exactly what is expected when they fill out this portion of the registration.
On the registration itself, Factoidz merely wants you to list the topics you feel the most comfortable and knowledgeable writing about. It gives them some idea what subjects the bulk of your articles will be directed towards. You do not have to limit your articles to the subject area you have listed and you will have more expert areas listed as you write more content to the site.
The real measure of how expert you are on a subject comes from the readers themselves, if they read your article and find it helpful, well written and knowledgeable then they may vote you as an expert in one or more categories based on that article. The more people who rate you as an expert in a given topic the higher your expert rankings will go and the more likely readers will be to read your articles when they are looking for information on that particular topic.
So while choosing your expert topics should involve a little consideration on your part it not a do or die situation and you will have plenty of opportunities to show you are an expert on many subjects and in doing so increase your views and earnings.
Just simply list those subjects you feel passionate about and enjoy writing about and you may find yourself an expert on one or two subjects in no time at all!

I find it dissapointing that they reject several of my articles. I don’t know wether to go back or not! Triond is great as they publish everything! I will go full time here instead of Factoidz!

I would not have time to do any of the sites justice if I had several, but it is good to know about how these other sites work if you do want to give them a try. Good work.
