Got writers’ block? Scrolled through the “Topic Suggestions” section of Triond and come up blank? Here’s a neat trick to extend the number of topic suggestions from 25 to 100 instantly and increase your chances of coming up with hot article writing ideas every day.
Of course, it’s always great to suddenly be hit with a great idea for an article. But some days inspiration is a little lacking, and yet you still have the urge to write. So you’re faced with the question: what to write about.
If you write for the Triond family of websites, you’re probably familiar with the”Topic Suggestions” section of the Online Editor. If not, you can find it next to the “Submit Media” section under the Submit tab. The Topic Suggestions are currently hot search spikes in Google, for those of you who had not made this connection. The top 25 spiking searches are listed down the left of the screen, with the page body being broken into three search results categories: news, blog and web search.
If you’re into writing about celebrities, these are almost always a rich source of ideas, though you’ll have to be quick with your research and article writing to catch the crest of the wave of interest. These results are updated hourly and highlight nano trends in the world zeitgeist. Sometimes interest can pass quickly and searches already be diminishing fast before you have time to read up, write up and post your musings. Especially since if you want your article to make it’s mark you need to bring an intelligent angle to it, and not simply rehash what everyone else is saying.
Also, if you don’t feel confident in commenting on celebrity lifestyles and all the latest gossip, there are times when you can click through those top searches and still find nothing. But what if you could expand that list to 100? Surely then you would always be able to find a suitable topic? At least you’ve increased your chances fourfold. And if you’re writing for other article sites than Triond, these hot topics may not be available to you.
Fortunately it’s really quick and simple to do. You see, those results are drawn directly from Google. And they are available to you directly. All you have to do to see the top 100 current hot trends is follow this link to Google Trends.
Click on any one of these topics and you will be transported to a page much like the “Hot Topics” section of Triond, with search results and statistics for that term. As on Triond, the hot search terms are listed down the left, but here you can scroll through all 100 terms.
For each search term, you get an assessment of the topic’s heat, from “mild” to ”volcanic,” a graph showing recent search activity and an assessment of when the search term peaked. You also get suggestions for related search terms, which can be used as tags for your finished article, and help with your research.
Beneath these you will find the same search results for news and blog as displayed on Triond, side by side, with the web search results displayed beneath, all of which open in separate windows just like here on Triond.
So there you go, an instant way to increase your “Hot Topics” from 25 to 100. Of course, there’s still no guarantee your article will generate stratospheric results. After all, you have to get the writing spot on and promote your articles. But hopefully, you’ll find something in those top 100 results to get the creative juices flowing.
