A review of Eragon.
Eragon, writen by Christopher Paolini, is an action-packed fantasy book.
In this book, Eragon, a young boy close to manhood, finds a dragon egg. When the egg hatches, bringing forth a baby dragon he names Saphira, Eragon’s life is forever changed. He must inherit the duties of the Dragon Riders, as he is the last one known in existence, besides the evil king. I don’t want to reveal much more, but I’ll say Eragon is filled with surprises, magic, and battles with heart pounding action.
I would totally recommend someone to read this book. I loved it, and thought it was amazing.
The movie, however, didn’t get the same thoughts.
First off, the movie barely followed the story line that was set by the novel. One major character had a loose description in the book, but the movie took it too far. Also, besides this character’s appearance, she was only in one scene, which I found disappointing. There were a few battle scenes that I wished had followed what happened in the book more. Overall, the movie could have some major improvements, but I guess it was okay.
Eragon, by Christopher Paolini, is one of my favorite books, and always will be. You should read it.
