Nowadays, many online freelance writers are facing problem to start writing online. They feel doubt and have low self-esteem to showcase their work to the world. Here are some effective and practical guidance that can fuel your writing skill to help you gain recognition globally.
Online writing is not an easy task. It requires a lot of time and efforts to earn for recognition but not just pennies instead. It’s a reward for those who have worked whole-heartedly. It’s a proven fact that people who have really worked for online writing have a more comfortable life, but of course not become the riches like Bill Gate. The wealth gathered here is a matter of time, not overnight of course, but over a period of time. It tends to be slowly in nature. Some really acquire good pay via online writing several years later. As in my case, from February 2008 up to now, I’m paid over 100 every month by Triond. I remembered that my first month income in June, 2007 was only $0.60.
Over time, your knowledge, experience and expertise will be rewarded. If you consider online-writing is pointless for you to gather your pennies, then I’d advise you to leave it. Probably, you should try other options to earn money online, a MLM concept based business, pay per click, auction sale or selling goods at eBay may be the most suitable option for you.
I’d had a chance to contact with some veteran and professional writers from other writing sites who were sincere enough to share their experiences with me. Most of them have been writing online for 6 years and more, and they said that they’ve made thousands and more via online writing. Some of them are now enjoying a lavish life even though they’re not being employed. They told me that they don’t have to work, because they’re getting paid again and again for the contents that they’d contributed in the past. I asked their advice to become success in online writing, and they advised that more quality contents are better than bulk of non-quality contents.
Of course, I admit that I’m not the best writer and am still learning from those who’re veteran. I still need to improve my writing skill. Initially, I faced a lot of obstacles in online writing. English is not my native language. It’ll be easier for me to write in Chinese, Japanese than in English. In fact, I’ve had a problem with my English but luckily I’ve angels at Triond and my sisters, Judy Sheldon and BC Doan (also Triond’s writers) to guide me through. I took their advices and learnt from Kindergarten story books, to primary and up to intermediate level. My sisters said my English has improved a lot. You’ll see a difference between my articles written in 2008 and those written in 2007.
Fame doesn’t come overnight. My recognition came along with my feces article: Are your feces healthy? This is the most successful health article I’ve ever written for, with about 105,000 views to date. Normally, it’s hard to gain higher views for health article as compared to animal, internet or game based articles which are more appealing to extremely larger group of people. When I wrote this article, people laughed at me, and even Triond took 6 days to have it published online. At that moment, I thought maybe people were not interested on FECES. But now, this article has become popular because many people are having problem with their daily bowel movements. This is to emphasize that every day’s pooping becomes a very important habit for all of us.
For online writing, you should initially keep to a lower target but don’t expect much. Don’t check your views or clicks every hour as it’ll lead you to frustration. It’s always better to check the performance of your contents every fortnight or every month. I’m sure that you’ll be happy to see the result and the money that you’ve been accumulated here.
Now, ask yourself what REALITY you’re searching for online writing. It’s a matter of how you define your reality. As a writer, you should create something people can identify. You should have more freedom to create something unique, and try your effort to change the mood of the atmosphere. If you proceed in this manner, you’ll see the concept here.
To continuously maintain your view, you should ensure that your own content is not copied to other sources. Take any appropriate steps to curb “copycat” from being copied your contents to their blogs, or websites for their personal gains. In regards to copyright infringement issue, all writers, no matter whether you’re from Triond, Bukisa, eHow, Hubpages, Helium, and any other writing platforms should cooperate to acknowledge each other if they come across contents from these writer communities being copied or manipulated. I think this is the ultimate solution to the copyright infringement issue that we, online freelance writers are facing now. UNITY will definitely make writers strong to confront with problems.
Think positively and have faith in whatever you do. You should always have a smile because when you’re happy, your immune system is also strong, and there you can fuel your momentum to move fast forward. Imagine, when your energy is fueled at its maximal, it can generate several tone metric of electricity power. This explains the importance of the strongest inner desire because it can power up one big ship.
If you’re really interested to “hunt” for more money, then make your effort to write 2 articles per day, and wait till the third or fourth months to see the pennies rolling in. If you’re busy with your work or study, it’s advisable for you to write at least 4 articles per month. Make sure that you write on a regular basis. The more quality content you write the more income potential you’ve generated for the coming time. Of course, you’ll make money with the contents you’ve spent much time and effort, and this is particularly true for the time you’ve spent in writing, researching and reading. If you’re not engaged to your present job, then you can work your contents round the clock. As for me, I can’t do in such a manner as I’m engaged with my present job.
The next question that you desire to know is how much money you could make by writing online. Well, this question is very personal and depends on the individual. How much do you want to earn? Will it be $50 per month, $100 per month, $1,000 per month, or $10,000 per month? The higher figure you’re aiming for, of course the more time you’ve to spend, and the more quality contents you’ve to create for. Try to suit your need the best, but don’t try to stress yourself into this dilemma. You won’t enjoy the real meaning of life then. Money is not everything, something previous just a few meter away from yours, try to grab it and don’t let it go away; or else, you’ll feel regret later.
Usually, people have a very high enthusiasm to write for the first few weeks, but due to the initial failure and lower views, many have stopped writing. Remember, Rome was not built in one day! Even Thomas Alva Edison tried over 100 times to enable himself an award of the greatest inventor! Why not yours?
Once again, I’d like you to understand that online writing is neither the easiest nor the most difficult task. If it’s the easiest career to become rich, many may leave their full time jobs and work for this profession. Further, online writing is not a quick rich scheme. If you come across with these writing sites, you must be very careful as they may be scam or illegal sites which will never pay for your content.
With your strongest passion and confidence, you could overcome many problems. This is a miracle that God has created for us ever since we were born. Undeniably, we’ve many ups and downs in our life. This is perhaps the manifestation of life. Each of us can’t escape to face them. When you feel down, draw yourself a rainbow; and when you’re at the top, don’t forget those who’d left behind. Each writer is tied with a unique soul and when each of them is tied together, it can be spectacular scenery of the Grand Canyon, an endless border of the sky and a huge area of the world’s largest ocean.
Online writing requires more patience and commitment from yours. It’s an ongoing task that will definitely reward you in a long run. What can I say here? It’s a type of royalty you’ll enjoy throughout the time for your past efforts.
Lastly, I wish all of you happy writing and happy publishing! Good luck!

This is very inspiring, Chan. Actually, I have been lying low from Triond as I don’t think I’m making any progress here…and it’s where I have the highest number of publications, but it’s where I earn the least.
I also get frustrated with the ‘bad security string’ always appearing – it wastes very precious time that instead of reading more Triond posts, I end up reading just a few.
Thanks for your usual support.
