Dialogue: Writing The Sassy, Sexy Very Short Story

Don’t make your characters sexual athletes. Make them talk and act like real people. Now that’s hot.

We’ve all had sexy, hot conversations.  Many of us have laughed at the profanity laced language of adult actors and actresses.

When I write an erotic flash fiction story, I want the reader to believe that the action and the language are pretty close to what happens in real life.  This kind of dialogue is a careful balancing act.  Go too far in one direction and the reader thinks, this writer is making this all up.  Go too far in the opposite direction and the reader thinks, has this writer ever had sex?

You want the reader to think, that’s so true.

I have a little trick that I use in a lot of my sexy stories to make the dialogue sound true.  I have my characters involved in a sex act while they talk about something else.  Now not always; but that kind of behavior smacks of reality.

What I am really saying is that when you write dialogue for your sassy, sexy story put some thought into the dialogue you write for your husbands and wives or boyfriends and girlfriends or for your lovers.  The best dialogue is still about projecting the personality of the person talking.

Just remember that.

And of course, the dialogue of two people talking not only reveals character but it also reveals the nature of their relationship even as they work toward sexual gratification.

Here are two stories that illustrate my point: Nude Coversation and Orgasm.
